percs and oxycontin..

Just wondering what the diffrence is between the 2? As far as i know they both contain oxycodone but the oxycontin is a much higher dose per pill, oxycontins are time released right? this would be the reason. Also what are some of the oc/apap dosages perc or oxycontins come in?

Also i read on a faq on erowid that hydrocodone and oxycodone are similar in strength, but on here heard oxy is stronger, which do you think? And are these good choices for my friend to try who has only done codeine before and is lookin to step it up a bit and try some stronger opiates? thanks in advance.Edited by: bcStoner420

i think i read oxys are 2.5 times stronger but i think there are also a
lot more mg of oxycodone in an oxycontin than hydrocodone in vicodin. i
believe they have 80 mg oxys and vicodins are usually what? 5-10ish? i
dont know ive never done oxy and i tend to only do vicodin when it
comes into my hands for free or very cheap through some kind of good
luck.

Percs usually come in 5/325 so taking 4 of them would be the same as crushing a 20mg oxycontin but the oxycontin doesnt have any apap. Because oxycontin is time released you must crush them to get the desired effects. Oxycodone which is the main ingredient in both percocet and oxycontin is about 1.5x stronger than hydrocodone(vicodins). Oxycontin can be as large as 160mg which is the reason it is time released. Be careful with the dosages if you dont have a tolerance. Hit me up if you guys have any questions.

Thanks guys, this helps. SWIM only has tolerance with codeine before which im 99% sure is the weakest opioid in existence, he was thinking about doing 40mg oxycodone (crushed, ingested, with grapefruit juice throughout the day)and see how it goes from there.

tolerance is tolerance...the fact that you have one means that you have taken a fair amount of opiates.

40mg oxy is compareable to 60 - 70mgs of hydro which is equiv to...

6 or 7 Norco's
8 or 9 Vicoden ES
12 - 14 Vicoden

Of course all of those are minus the Tylenol...so be careful and enjoy! Oxy's are so damn good.

I agree tolerance is tolerance, within the same category/family of drugs that is. What i meant is that since he only has experience with codeine (lots of it) that stepping it up should provide effects hes looking for much better.

agreed...my animal loves codeine, says he likes it better then hydro...but oxycodone has always been the best.

when 17 he got cronic appendicitis and was given a script for percodan. He unsuspectingly took one and was totally blown away. He ended up having a very funny verbal exchange with his 13 month younger brother that went something like...
