In my country (Italy) the situation is very bad , the new government (Berlusconi) have legal compared heavy drugs like heroin-cocaine to cannabis and the consumer to the pusher! Im in trouble because im a old smoker (from 25 years, im 40) and now is very hard and dangerous try to find some stuff to smoke...
For this reason i have start to search on the net some legal cannabis alternatives and I have find many web sites that offer different types of this stuff. After several day im still confused and i hope that some forum's people can help me in this research with some suggestions. My impression is that the herbalsmokeshop seems to be the more serious but in this world nothing is real sure... I think to order some solid concentrates like honey blonde. If someone have tried this or some other please tell me what do u think about. Many thanks in adv TekPainter (sorry for my poor english but im italian) |

Kratom comes in many different qualities. Good quality is hard to come by as it comes from Thailand where it is as illegal as heroin. You probably know how rough the Thai handle their drug war. Low quality Kratom is grown at other places. Try a different supplier. |

Why would you move over to the USA to smoke weed, if your going to come to north america to smoke weed come to Canada...We have some amazing weed and practically no problems with the law when it comes to it. This kratom soudns interesting, perhaps i will try it.. Also i agree, some of the legal marijuana alternative buds look soooo good, but i hear thier pretty shitty.

If you're talking about moving to make weed more available why the fuck
would you recomend the US and Canada? If you want readily available, awesome weed move to Holland. Its a fantastic place. You can also easily obtain mushrooms, peyote, ayahuasca, and lots of other goodies there. |

You might try making a good strong cocoa drink from a couple of
tablespoons of unsweeteded cocoa powder and some honey (or stevia for low-calorie). No kidding; the stuff is mildly psychoactive and actually contains some anandamide-type compounds (THC also hits the ananadmide receptor in the body). But you need to get a nice strong hit of cocoa, not a bunch of sugar, so make your own drink from the unsweetened stuff. However, don't do it along with any kind of MAOI; those make the body unable to detoxify a compound called tyramine which is present in chocolate, aged cheese, wine and other things. Note that Passionflower, another thing suggested as a pot substitute, is a mild MAOI. good chocolate link: http://www.chocolate.org/ Last edited by Alfa; 05-10-2006 at 15:23. |

I smoke an herbal blend from time to time called morphing blend, at
first it produced no effects but now I get a mild mary jane like buzz from it that lasts for about 30 minutes. A frequent pot smoker prolly wouldn't enjoy it and rate it low, but I barely smoke pot so its fine for me. |

What's the deal with "BC Dro" and some of these "legal buds" advertised
online ...... basically BS? I hear they're all pretty much made from the same kinds of herbs: wild lettuce, damiana, wild dagga, etc. And sometimes even salvia (about as far from a pot buzz as you can get!!). Tried Calea once, smoked 5x extract, not impressed. Had a real effect, but not a pleasant one. Something of a deliriant; felt out of it, disconnected. Sinicuichi: this is actually pretty nice, smoked thru a filter (pretty harsh smoke). Quite mild but nice, no paranoia like pot. A bit too mild though, or else I and lots of people would be really into it. Morphing blend isn't too bad either, but terribly harsh. Last edited by Alfa; 15-02-2006 at 18:51. |

After smoking a joint of Sinicuichi (Heimia salicifolia)
I felt as if i'd smoked some weed a hour or two ago and it was wearing off. I also heard things slightly distantly and speaking seemed to be awkward, i kept mixing words together to form new words that don't exist. Smoked dried green leaves, tasted a bit bitter, probably because of chlorophyll but not too unpleasant. Mild effects, had to smoke a spliff half an hour afterwards, couldn't handle the "after-cannabis" effects of Sinicuichi. Felt slightly detached, numbing of world. Does have some weird kind of effect, smoke it, see what it does to you. |

In New Zealandthere is a legal smoking product calledSpice, it is made from the extracts of many psychoactive herbs includingLions Ear, Pedicularis, Turkestan Mint, Maconha Brava, Baybean andBlue Lotus, added to a vanilla, rose marshmellowand red clover smoking blend. This gives a very Cannabis like feeling from one or two puffs, it is probably more psychoactive than Cannabis by weight. I smoke this regularly as an alternative to Cannabis and hope to see more of this style of thing become available. |

There is no substitute for cannabis. Tried smoking all of it, nothing is the same. And Holland is no longer a country; what used to be called Holland, as well as some of what were called "The Low Countries" collectively, is now called The Netherlands. But yes, The Netherlands would be the best and only place to move to if you want to smoke weed without any hassle. And Canada would be the second best choice worldwide, and the ONLY logical choice if you were wanting to relocate to North America. You could also try and relocate to Columbia, as there personnal use and posession of ANY drug is legal. But it might be hard to stay out of the crossfire between the cocaine druglords and the fucking US mercenaries working there for the DEA. Edited by: BrugmansiaBrujo |

As much as people say in there experiences of many drugs, "I felt a mild pot like buzz." there is nothing you can compare to smoking weed, it is a placeboic effect because people believe it will give that effect.and considering you are a long time smoker i dont think you will ever find anything to satisfy your hunger. Kratom, is apparently similar to Opium. (i.e. Euphoric Narcotic)I have never tried Kratom, i wanted to but then it was made illegal here on the 1/1/2005. Which sucked. Apparently smoking kratom is the least potent and inefficient way to consume Kratom, the suggested way is to make it into a tea, one could even extract the chems from this plant to smoke and get a decent high. I've smoked Damiana before in HUGE quantities (15 grams)coz the stuff sucked so bad, all it does is basically nothing except suffocate your lungs. |

I can't see any of these "legal" herbs having similar effects to
cannabis. They might have different effects that are similar to other drugs, but I find it impossible for any "legal herb" to replace cannabis. |

As and experienced pot smoker, i will tell you that honestly, smoking a bowl of roach papers and stems would probably get you way higher than most of these, tried 2 diffrent ones that were suppose to be pretty good and were just crappy and tasted awful. Never tried kratom though and from the sounds of it thats the only one with a possibility of being worthwhile.Edited by: bcStoner420 |

Yeah bcStoner I strongly agree, all these herbs and what not are just a load of crap that claim to get you high, they do slightly but i would compare it to the strength of half a drink. I have heard alot of good things about Kratom. Although unlike weed at all, there must be something good in their in order for Australia to recently make it illegal. |

The only pot substitute I have tried was called "panama red" it wasjust
another form of wilddagga. It gave some mild pot like effects but basically I just use some of that with the real stuff when im rolling and am low on illegal herbals. |

Don't the "legal buds" that internet smokeshops carry taste like weed at least? I'm just looking for something while i'm drug tested, but I've heard good things about Kratom, and that it has taste and effects similar to ganj but VERY mild Anyone ever purchased a pot subsitute, and if so what did it do? |
