Shotgun hole?

just gotmy firstbowl and was wondering, what is the hole in the side ofthe glass bowl for?i've smoked many times before andheard it referred to as a shotgun before but dont wanna askmy friendscuz i dont wanna look like a retard....how's do you use it?

It's for holding your finger over when you take a toke and then you release it as you inhale so that the smoke hits you faster. At least that's what I think you're talking about.

Yep, it's referred to the carb hole around here... releasing it also allows

you to clear the chamber.

Those holes were introduced as a result of legislation passed by bill clinton, it gives the user oportunity to look like they are toking, with the option of inhaling fresh air if they just want to look cool.
