Drug info - how long would spilt LSD remain potent for?

Hi,

If you accidently put some acid on your cloths and all over your house,
then is it still potent after you wash your cloths and clean the whole
house?



i'm a bit concerned that someone else who lives with me might
accidentally come into contact with some of the acid, and i absolutely
do NOT want that to happen.

No, LSD is very instable. Light and Air destroys it within a few days.

I dont know, I wasnt under the impression that LSD was THAT unstable
(to be destroyed in a few days in ordinary conditions), SWIM has eaten
some pretty old blotters. Also, I think LSD is destroyed by heat and
light, not air. However, LSD can not effectively be absorbed through
the skin, and I dont walk around licking my clothes and house. If
you've washed everything thouroughly, you should be OK.

What you haven't said is: What form (solid, liquid) the LSD was in? How much was sprayed around? What is the potency (1,000 to 1)? And, (for curious Forum members) what the heck happened? But, I'll move on.


Clothes, when washed, are free of LSD (and dirt, grime, or grease). If you are concerned, just wash them twice.


Wallpaper, if washed a couple times, will give-up it's LSD. Certainly paint can be washed clean.


Furniture and carpeting will be nigh impossible to fully remove the LSD. (In this case, the potency will have the most importance.) But, soaking the sofa fabric with a wet wash cloth, will absorb a lot of it. And, it will send a lot more of the LSD deeply within the padding. So, unless your house-mate likes chewing on the padding, I think you will be pretty safe. My thought: Clean each surface a couple of times; each time, more-and-more LSD will disappear. (And, be sure to dose with your "dirty" wash cloths. Waste not, want not.)

According to Albert Hofmann, when he first accidently ingested the LSD25, he came into topical contact with it in a solution of methanol. Methanol does absorb through unbroken skin. In fact it is quite possible to be poisoned by methanol in this way. Not fun.

Well if he senced the effects this means that it absorbs through the skin. But I don't think it would happen in normal conditions and if it happens that wouldn't worry me!

Many tryptamines are somewhat active trough the skin. Hawaiian baby woodrose, Mushrooms, Acid all give some effect when handled in bulk with bare hands.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he intended to absorb the
acid through his forehead per se. I think that as he was playing his
sweat mixed with the lsd and trickled into his mouth.

Gee, integer, it's not fair to us in the Forum, if you don't say at least what happened (what was hit) in your LSD-spray odyssey. You hint at something that would be a Dream for me (having 1000s of Hits of LSD, so many that I could "play" with them). So, if you just give us the basic facts of where your LSD went, thatis enough.


Armatitumor made the request a little too embarassing: "But yeah, how DID you accidently get LSD all over your house?" This is more than I need to know (or even want to know).


I mean, I don't care if you had 10,000 Hits of LSD pressurized into a hair-spray can, then the nozzle leaked, "Oh no!", and you ran around the house looking for something to cover it up, spritzing all the way. Or, that you were so loaded one daythat you thought that LSD would probably make a jim-dandy Air Freshener, and proceeded to spray it all around the house (to test your theory).

So, please, give us a bit more than: "um, you guys would never believe me ." Because it's (probably) true that we wouldn't believe the bizzare circumstances which intersected in one place (they flopped in your lap), and created the Event itself.


A fair response (at least to me) would be which items around the house got "innoculated" with LSD: Walls, ceiling, carpeting, hard-wood floor, sofa, dining table, TV set, any Pets, flower arrangements, a wedding dress,kitchen counter.


In my first Post I asked for real basic info: "What form (solid, liquid) the LSD was in? How much was sprayed around? What is the potency (1,000 to 1)?" So, if you decide not to tell us what actually gothit with the Hits ... then at least explain What was sprayed around. (Heck, I reached out with a lot of clean-up tips, to make you feel secure with your roommate; it would nice to return the favor; then I will know what you had to clean up.)

LSD25 gives off a blue glow under long-wave ultraviolet light. So if you scan your house with a portable blacklight, you can find where it landed. Do this in the dark as the glow would be subtle.
