20g Fresh Does Not Equal 2g Dry
Ok, so the general consensus here on the board is that standard fresh magic mushrooms i.e. cubensis, shrink to about 1/10th of their original size/weight when dried. This would lead us to believe that 20g of fresh cubes is the same dose as 2g dry cubes. I was thinking about this just a minute ago and thought to myself that this does not seem accurate. 20g fresh seems like a stronger dose than 2g dry in my experience. I would compare 20g fresh to the standard 3.5g dry dose. Does anyone else agree? I think people underestimate the potency/weight of fresh shrooms.
I could be wrong because this is all assumed on guesswork, but I would like to see other people's opinions on the matter. |

You need 12 - 14 kg fresh cubes to make 1 kg dry cubes. Your 20 grams 'fresh' is probably a bit dried in, since that is the natural way of it. I assume your mushrooms come from Holland and it naturally dries in during transport. Also, when dry mushrooms have been laying around, they loose potency. Your 3.5 grams dry cubes is a LARGE dose if the cubes have not lost any potency. The chemical composition of shrooms change a bit when dried. This also has an effect. I would compare 32.5 grams fresh with 2.5 grams dry. All depends on the quality of the mushrooms of course. Seems like you have very good mushies there.

It also depends on how well-dried the dry mushrooms are. Someone who's growing for profit won't go to the same measures to dry his "product" and will end up with some moisture left in his dry shrooms, which would make them heavier and seem less potent when compared to fresh.

I don't have the kg knowledge, but to my expirience, low doses like 10 grams fresh compared to one or 0.8 grams dried doesn't compare. It feels different (imho). I have only done higher doses dried (bad taste beware!

fresh mushroom s are more potent, this is a truth
and some mushrooms have less potential for holding water then others so sometimes 20g fresh does equal 2g dry but then again it could be much better or even not as good it simply depends on the mushroom sthat you get i could only imagine a fresh dose of 10g or so chopped up really finely and taken with lemon juice that would be absolutely amazing can't wait to try it |
