Let me know if it a violation of the rules to compare brand names.
If it is, then descriptions should be okay, since there are only about 5 - 6 basic designs that work out there anyways. I'm really surprized that no one has looked at this (at least as farr as I could tell from the SE) vey carefully. Vaporizers when working can greatly increase the milage of your 'aromatherapy' herbal products as well as spare your lungs a whole lot of tar. Many designs work poorly, however, or have problems with design. Some of the newer digital aromatherapy vaporizers are promising and reasonably priced - anyone try any of these ? Snapper |

If you want me to compare brand names, it would be easier if you would mention one. I have a "digital" Vaporizer. I use the Valve-Set of the Volcano Vaporizer. The heat source is a digital-readout Heat Gun. I can "custom-make" the perfect temperature for whatever I happen to be vaporizing that day. Why irritate my lungs with smoke, when I can just breathe-in pure THC vapors? Answer: I don't. Have you tried a Vaporizer? Or are you just looking for some info about them? There are a couple Threads where people are praising their favorite Vaporizer. You can learn a lot from these Threads. |

Actually, SWIM decided to get the Vapir and has been playing with it all
week. Never really had one of these before, so SWIM is unsure if using right... When do you stop vaporizing, when the taste of your herbal disappears or when vapor stops being produced ? Is the herbal in question supposed to be dry, brown, and crumbles to fine powder with no oil or smell to it afterwards ? Does this type of vaporizer ever burn material ? Thanks, and if there are any other favorite types, please voice them. As an aside, SWIM noted that the effect is quite different vaporized than smoked, which makes SWIM feel that smoking, which SWIM is trying to avoid, will still need to be an option. Snapper |

Vaporizing 101 . . . What-to-do, what-to-do. I will throw out my opinions; I hope they help you, snapper. When do you stop vaporizing, when the taste of your herbal disappears or when vapor stops being produced? To be thrifty, you can stop when no more THC vapor is created. What I do is, keep adjusting the Temperature up (which boosts the vapors), until I get to 450 degrees (sometimes 490). So that when I stop, a good amount of vapors are still being made. But, from practice, I know that the Best is over. The Number One reason many people don't enjoy the Vapo experience is: They keep the Temp at one setting; this means that after a couple blasts of THC, the "smoke" gets weaker and weaker. By steadily increasing the Temp, all of the different Cannabinoids are fully vaporized (some of them won't Vap until well-over 400 degrees). The Number Two reason for disappointment is the particular Vaporizer. Some of them have "whimpy" fans in them. The Vapors will come out, but they just dribble out. A unit with a strong fan will produce a lot more THC Vapor (and produce it a lot quicker) than the whimpy ones. So, the cheapie will waste a portion of the available THC, and make you wait a long time to get it. Is the herbal in question supposed to be dry, brown, and crumbles to fine powder with no oil or smell to it afterwards? Dry, yes. Brown, yes mostly (either a light brown or a medium yellow). Crumbles, sometimes. With no oil, hopefully. With no smell, sometimes (depending on the Strain). Does this type of vaporizer ever burn material? Not knowing the Vapir intimately, I can't say, but if it has a Temperature read-out, then you can tell if you're going to burn it. Marijuana begins to burn at about 520 degrees. So, if you keep the Temp below 500, you will not be burning buds. (That's why I always stop at 490.) |

Wow, thanks for the info - that was helpful
My lab rats figured out the fan thing, so now their little lungs are exploding with vapor. This one only dials up to 400, but eventually seems to stop vaporizing anything. SWIM fed his lab rats a cartidge that had already been used once and was able to make his rats happy the second time around, so SWIM figures any vapor is good vapor. SWIM really likes this little device more and more ! Product is SO MUCH MORE potent for the volume used. Also, the balloons that come with it can store vapor. SWIM has his rats exhale into the bag and then they re-inhale at their leisure. This can be done several times off of one bag. Allows noticably more THC into the bloodstream ... Overall, this one is VERY highly recommended - first vaporizer SWIM has ever found which actually works well. Snapper |
