Sysane to dissolve Ativan (Lorazepam) for IV

Hey everyone. Injecting pills is stupid, but SWIM does it anyway, and will despite the warnings other have/will post. So if SWIM is going to inject Lorazepam (Ativan) despite what others say, he would like to know the most effective way to go about doing it. SWIM has already done much research and injected Lorazepam once before without any negative effects, pain, irritation to skin or vain, and noticed effects stronger than oral administration with smaller doses. Swim finally came across a product today in Walgreens called Systane, an eye drop lubracant that contains Active Ingredients: Polyethylene Glycol 400 (0.4%), Propylene Glycol (0.3%). Inactive Ingredients: Boric Acid, Calcium Chloride, Hydroxypropyl Guar, Magnesium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Purified Water, Sodium Chloride, Zinc Chloride. may Contain Hydrochloric Acid and/or Sodium Hydroxide to Adjust Ph.

Polyethylene Glycol 400 and Propylene Glycol are both used in hospitals to dissolve and inject liquid Ativan. I was just wondering what the ratio of how many ML of PG400 .4% and GP.3% per milligram of lorazepam is needed? I feel the last time SWIM IVed, a lot went to wast. Any advice? Thanks!

Post Quality Evaluations:
Indeed it is dangerous, but good job admitting it, and great job asking chemical questions to reduce harm.

Swim would also like to know the answer to the question, and wonders how the 1st attempt was conducted. Swim thought the research and atempt seemed to work pretty well. Swim wishes they knew more to help. Swim is a stupid newbie at this stuff.

It's possible to inject benzo's with only water but it's a very very dangerous thing to do. My fiends old associates used to do it and he thought that's how it's done, no harm seem to come to them. The thing is, it definitely was doing harm by severely irritating veins (temazepam is really bad for this) and possibly occluding smaller vessels. The major danger is that it occludes the small vessels in the lungs which could cause blood clots, the brain which could cause stroke or the heart which would cause a heart attack.

My fiend has said how it's done before and he's reluctant to post it again because he thinks it's too dangerous and he can't quite believe he got away with it. Actually i think on one occasion something did happen that could have easily done him serious harm or even killed him, on this occasion his whole body "fizzed" that's the only word he can use, and he nearly passed out, God only knows what was going on inside.

It's a limb losing, life threatening thing to do and it's simply not worth it since benzo's work really well orally, crush em up with front teeth and swallow with a hot drink.

The only semi-safe way is to properly dissolve the benzo and filter the fillers, as far as i know the best way to filter is to use wheel filters, in fact filter it with a series of increasingly finer wheel filters.

Re: Sysane to dissolve Ativan (Lorazepam) for IV

For the record, this is a terrible idea, you have no clue how much of the KCl, NaCl, etc. is in Systane, no clue if the lorazepam is going to precipitate out of this complex solution, no clue what the Systane itself will do to your veins. Don't fuck around with propylene glycol, there's a limit to how much commercially prepared lorazepam for injection can be administered because too much can screw up your heart rhythm, people have gone into cardiac arrest from this stuff. There's no reason to inject lorazepam, it hardly works any faster parenterally than it does orally.
