Something SWIM thought of while very, very baked:

If Christ is the only Son of GOD, what does that make Adam and the
subsequent human race?

Thoughts, anyone?

While Bongo was half-baked or better he wondered: What would the Western world be like if Jesus' had been named Enrique Harrallabaggapoigles?

Bongo is a devout Agnostic.

Well, many christians like to call them and theirselves "children of god",
which is what brought this to SWIM's mind.

SWIM personally thinks the whole bit is bullshit, but again, SWIM is just
exploring it intellectually. Mostly after two cute girls tried to convert SWIM.

Bullshit as in: I'm a third level history student who realises that as a historical source the Bible is vastly flawed giving me the impression that it doesn't hold any spiritual significance either. But I guess I'm biased. I was raised Catholic and eventually just gave up on it. The idea of a "god" or an "afterlife" seem pretty far-fetched to me in this 21st century of science and practical discovery.

I think its really sad to think there is nothing after this life, what is the point in all this shit we have to go through is there is no meaning or after life. Hey this might be our after life already and we're already in hell. You've just got to find your way out and taking drugs is not the way.

If there is no after life why not just make it easyer and end it now, fuck all this shit and pain we go through what the HELL is the point.

Maybe we live in hope of something better after this shit hell on earth, if you look around the whole word there is hell everywhere and its getting worse.

All religion is fucked up but its ment to be so we can make our own minds up about it, like a test from god.

Dont just pick a religion and think you'll be ok you have to look at all religions and you'll see that there all the same in some way.

I fail to see your logic. If, like me, you are one who believes there is no afterlife, this life now is precious. It's the one chance we get and to end it would be a waste. Simple enough don't you think?

Thats good that you dont fall into religioustraps as I dont think God wantsyou to either.

I dothink you have to be very shallow minded to beleave there is no meaningfor life/after life. Maybe for you yes, in that case I believeyou have no spirit or soul andYOUR life is meaningless.

Imy opinionthereis areason for life and living for me and many othersbut I also believe anyone is entitled to make up there own mind.Edited by: oggy

humans have this thing that really tends to fuckup their thinking...we are, like all other living forms here just to mate&pass the genetic material,to follow the genetic footprint to survive.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urnchemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

there is a complex process in the brain that results in a forming of a abstract concept known as a personality and what do humans do-call it soul and give it a physical meaning...

you believe that there is a meaning of life, that you were born for some purpose, that youre in some grand scheme...even afterlife....yes youre correct in a sense youre transferred through your genetic material...but inna way you would like to think...no sorry

the meaning of life? to live

It's not like me and daeron are trying to depress you or anything, we just share the most logical contemporary thoughts on what happens after death. There is no proof of an afterlife, nor will there ever be. There is no way to prove that there isn't an afterlife either but it seems more logical not to take it for granted.

We are no more "special" or "chosen" than cats, dogs, all the way down to rats, insects, plants or even bacteria. There's no reason why we should expect an afterlife.

And another thing, I have smoked salvia. It produces some bizarre mental reactions but so do a lot of things. Even the mind processes of death itself can cause abnormalities in the brain that can make someone "see" an afterlife if they somehow survive in order to come back and tell the tale i.e near-death experience visions. These are down to releases of chemicals in certain parts of the brain that would not normally be released. Different glands can produce different visions in the unconscious person e.g. release of chemicals from the penal gland can cause one to believe they are paralysed and abducted by aliens.

These are just some of my theories based around what I have understood down the years. Think about them. You may choose to believe them or ignore them. I have no problem with people having religious beliefs as long as it is kept private and doesn't involve any of the atrocities religion has caused in the past e.g. Spanish inquisition, the crusades as well as all number of holy wars, human sacrifice etc.

Yes I agree that religion is messed up and you shouldn't justpick one and think thats it you'll be fine and I'm sure god doesn't want you to either. Thats why he gave us free will to let us choose forour selfs.

If you have ever looked into religion you'll see that the muslim religionand the christian religion's and many others all have the same prophets just have different names for them.

But both muslims and chrsitians believe inJesus (isa) will come back when the world changes intechnology, wars caused by religion, sex, gays, natural disasters, illness, greed in power.

If you look around its happening.

Technology has been evolving constantly since ancient times. Religious wars are nothing new. Homosexuality has existed and has been more acceptable in ancient cultures of the past moreso than it is now e.g. Ancient Greece. Natural disasters are constant. The forces of nature have always been the peril of man. Illness is at an all-time low and as long as there has been power (since the very first monarchial structures) there has always been greed and corruption. So "it's been happening" for centuries and nothing is gonna change that.

Technology has been evolving constantly since ancient times.

Even20 years ago we had towaiton atape for 30minsto play a computer game, not everyone hadmoble phones, not everyonehome pc/net, not everone had a car. Now eveyone has G3 picture and video phones and pocket pc's. I cant even keep up with the new games consoles that are coming out or even play all the games for my ps2 and xbox and now there about to bring out new ones.

Inow havea 2 megapixel camera phone that can hold more than a gig of songs, video's and pics, whan 3-4 years ago i had a non colour phone that could onlyhold 25 messages and play snake on, that was great at the time.

So technology is getting faster and faster just as it was predicted around 2000 years after christ. People try to place dates on when exactlythis will happen but we're not ment to knowand no one does no the exact date, who knows this might not even be the year 2005 in fact its not for you if you dont believe in christ.

Anyway my point is thattechnology is getting faster and faster even from 5 years ago theres a huge difference. One day we might bepluging our selfsinto a computer and then just realize we've always been in a computer system hmm how fun
