Hi,

Does anyone have any info whether taking mescaline while being prescribed mirtazapine(remeron) would have any complications?

Well i found this...

"Mescaline, a hallucinogen, antagonizes 5-HT2 terminals and facilitates dopamine function. Oxetorone and pizotyline are relatively new antagonists used against migraine. Mirtazapine (Remeron) causes serotonin release, but subsequently blocks the 5-HT2 and 5-HT3 subreceptors, effectively augmenting serotonin action at 5-HT1 receptors."

So from this i'm getting that mescaline antagonizes 5-HT2 receptors, and mirazapine blocks 5-HT2 receptors... Does this mean that the mescaline won't have much effect, because mirtazapine's action will stop it?

Does anyone think it would be overly unsafe to try it out if i can't find any info?

Bandito.

Actually, do i have this wrong? Both are ANTagonists of the 5-HT2 terminals?

Please can someone with more knowledge confirm this. And still, can you see any complications if they're both antagonists?

Not a medical person, but if both are antagonists, it would seem that mescaline potentiation is possible.

If that is so, then perhaps you should try less mescaline/cacti than you normally would.

Of course, if you were SWIM, you would take the same amount of
mescaline and hope for a super trip. SWIM likes his trip to be
deep and long lasting.

How long does the action of mirazapine last, how often do you take a dose?

Maybe you might want to have at least 2-3 days on your hands before
trying it, in case it lasts a really long time. Like the first time
SWIM tried 2C-P, and after 2 hours felt nothing, so SWIM
re-dosed. Then it hit, and it lasted over 48 hours. SWIM
liked it, but SWIM was glad he took it at the beginning of a 4-day
holiday weekend. SWIM later found out that the come-on time for
2C-P can be 3 hours or so. A normal dose of 2C-P can last 16 or
more hours, so when SWIM doubled it up, he unintentionally took a
really long ride.

I take 30mg every night, and the half life is listed as between 20-40 hours.

If it could potentiate the effects of the mescaline, then i'm not too sure i should try it? If it JUST potentiates the nice effects then it would be great, but thats not likely i'm guessing...

If you are not comfortable with the idea, don't do it.

Man the docs aways told me psyc drugs don't really go good with street drugs, but I feel some do and some don't. I am sure the effect of remron is altered but just as different drug effect different people in different ways you will just have to do research on your self. Good luck and have a nice ride.

latter on,
