Injecting - Injection of Oxycontin

Hello all. This is my first post here.
I'm not sure whether or not I should be using the hypothetical situations (I noticed while searching through topics many people do) because I didn't see it specifically stated in the rules, but to be safe..

SWIM has been using Oxycontin on and off for a while, always snorting them. They want to try injecting it, have done a lot of research, but would like first hand experiences with it and/or tips to stay safe, too. Also, would the dose normally snorted be appropriate for injection? The pills being used are the 10mg white ones.
SWIM's biggest concern is overdose and vein damage, though Oxy isn't a regular habit and injection wouldn't be either.

If anyone could give any enlightenment, it would be very appreciated. Thanks. (:

Please, for the safety of SWIM, tell him it is not worth the potential damage. All of my best friends, who at one point in time were strictly using opioids and opiates by method of insuffulation, are now full blown IV heroin junkies. It is not worth it. No telling whether or not you will be able to shoot only once. So, enjoy it as you are right now and with no comparison (shooting)it will still seem extremely pleasurable. No point in stepping to the next level because the next level will seem the same as snorting a few months later and will eventually kill you (or 75% of all of you). Please dont let SWIM make that choice. But, it is your life and many must learn from experience.

But, there are many narcotic equivalency converters. Although not extremely accurate due to individual response and cross-tolerances (if any exist at all), it will give SWIM a rough estimate. Also, if SWIM is using only 10mg oxy right now damage to veins due to fillers in the oxy shouldnt be a problem (as only one pill at most would be injected). Here is a link to a site that may help SWIM with dosages; however, take it with a grain of salt and start lower to be sure. The alternative is alot more unpleasant but, SWIM probably will have no problems at the dosage level of 10mg. Always have someone else with you though and go to a needle exchange near you if one exists, they have kits with sterile materials and all the info you'll need to be safe. Start with 5-10mg.

I have 15 mg Blue oxycodone, are they safe to injeft?

Are you sure they are oxycodone? As far as I know Oxycodone is normally (not always)either the active drug in percocet or oxycontin. Percocets (and other similiar brands) are normally 5 mg. Oxys are 10,20,40,80, and 160 mgs. If it is dark blue and huge it might be a 160 of Oxy although I doubt it as these are pretty hard to find. My best guess is that it is morphine sulphate. If you haveenough of them try snorting one. If is is MS then it should be really gummy and unpleasant. I wouldnt reccomend shooting it (the filler is very gummy and the potency of the drug isnt very high). What does the pill say? Any numbers? There are many pill identification sites that you could go to in order to find what you actually have. I may be mistaken but I doubt it has oxycodone in it. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

I have been on OC's for a while. I'm on 40's for severe back trauma. I was taking 240mg ED after being on for 2 years. After my surgery, within 2 weeks, I stopped in 5 days. I had been bumpin them too when the pain got bad or I needed a pick me up.

Anyway, I did 240 the last day on my pain regiment. Then I went to 120mg the next day. Then a 40 in morning, then 20 at night. Then I did a 40, and finally a 20! I felt horrible throughout. Anyone experience this? I didn't hink it was too bad after all the pain I've been in. I would have taken that ove back pain ANY DAY!!!

If this truely simulates Heroin, I say those people who "CAN"T GET OFF" are fucking bitches. Suck it up and have some respect for yourself. It is the best feeling in ght world when you are done.

Also, a little Lorazepam, or xanax does wonders for the crawlies going up your skin. The restlessness is taken care of with a little muscle relaxers. These are all very good drugs to assist in coming off (I believe) it just soothes you so there is not as much anxiety, cravings and the feeling like you want to jump out of your skin (or in front of a truck ...)

I need to say one more thing. After being on so much, I would like to experiment. I tried to shoot a 40 before (have lots of practice with needles, but this was the first IV (AHHHHHHH!) Didn't like it at all. Much rather do IM (inter Muscular). When I did this, i used a .22 micron syringe filter to draw the liquid (crushed pill, added 3ml water, and cooked over grain alcohol in a short glass bottle with a cotton ball as a wick, this worked great). Once it was heated, I attached the needle top the syringe filter, the filter to the syringe, and drew in the heated mix.

Once it was in, I put a dab more water on the spoon and sucked that up too. The stuff in the syringe was cloudy, but not bad at all, I could see through it. I then put a new 25g 1" needle and did it in my left arm. It swelled up for about 2-3 mins at the inject spot (is this normal)?

I also used my belt to stop blood flow and raise my huge veins (just got done doing a hard workout 1.5-2 hours prior.

Didn't feel a whole lot. Was I expecting too much? I'd love some insight here!

Hey audiman/Namidua!!! nice name, hehe. Just caught that. suck you r banned. I've seen u on a lot of boards. He's a stand up guy for sure!!! Anyone know the deal with his banning?

Anyway, those 15mg codone's are probably green (I had em too and thought that they were blue in the dark of my car).

One more thing to add to "kicking the addiction". I also had smoked for 3 years heavily and stopped COLD turkey. It is the hardest the first 5-7 days and then it is ALL DOWN HILL from there!!! A lot of Addiction is all in the mind. Get past the physical part which can be helped with meds. Hope this helps.
