Re: Who's got the acid?
Swim lives right down the road from U of M.
Swim just thinks younger kids try x first and when they do try cid it is to much for them or more than what they want and there fore does'nt become popular. Lot of younger kids Swim knows say its too trippy. Swim used to do some every other day for months on end during high school. Mon., Wed., and Friday. Crazy dayz. It was very popular in Swims high school. Swim would wager a guess that about 30 or 40% tried it in Swims school.

Re: Who's got the acid?
Seems Casey Hardison was using a much simpler method than the classic synths, by using a peptide coupler.. Also, the LSD market fluctuates, sometimes there is abundant supply that almost meets the demand, and sometimes the supply is very low and doesn't meet it.. This has to do with various things that go on in the lives of the chemists and distributors, but SWIM has had a steady supply since the mid 90's.. Sometimes there is smaller amounts that make the price go up a small bit, but when one is in the loop, it's pretty easy to stay there, at least in SWIM's experience.. The thing is, LSD isn't the kind of drug people are going to sell in the street (except for shakedown street
).. LSD is the kind of drug most people use infrequently so there is not much money to be made, unless one sticks with certain crowds, and even then, the more addictive, more euphoric, gratification drugs will be bought much more, due to their nature and repeated chasing of that high.. Not too many people eat acid, then want to dose again in a few hours, and continue to dose for days or even every other day, so LSD users bring in much less money than someone who uses cocaine, heroin, meth, or even pot, all of which are widely used and abused..

Re: Who's got the acid?
SWIM is familiar with the Dead and Phish tour "distribution networks", and can honestly say that the article isn't lying when it claims the death of Garcia and the end of Phish tour shut down a large part of LSD's nationwide distribution network. This much is true, although festivals and smaller jamband tours still provide conduit for product. HOWEVER, product cannot be distributed if there is no product, and the Kansas bust did ruin that for many. SWIM is still privy to LSD knowledge (he doesn't participate, but if friends with people who are friends with people that do) at above-street-levels (no sources, SWIM is no dummy), and, yes, the wholesale prices have gone up, necessitating the retail price to go up as well. Many LSD retailers have given up and gone into the lower-stakes, higher-profits worlds of mj and pharms. However, Lucy is still out there for those who seek her.
It will be interesting to see if the revival of touring by certain bands this spring/summer correlates with a market boom.................. |

Re: Who's got the acid?
SWIM had a very close connection, and did very good quality LSD from the mid 80's to the later 90's, then all of a sudden it all seemed to disappear. SWIM thinks this is mostly because if the harsh penalty for distributing acid, and also the fact that it takes a freaking chemist to make it! SWIM thinks Vitamin Airplane is still around, but has gone deep underground. SWIM wishes he knew where to get some. It's always been his drug of choice.
Spinner added 4 Minutes and 13 Seconds later... You know, you're right. When Jerry died, that's about the time it started getting hard to find. Apparently, the DeadHeads were probably the largest contributor to acid availability. SWIM remembers getting some of the best LSD when some of SWIM's friends got back from shows. Re: Who's got the acid?
Besides the loss of the Dead which was significant one needs to be aware that a large percentage of LSD was coming out of one lab, one group of connected people. And when a major player was contained so were the peripheral parties. The large scale production of LSD is predicated upon the existence of a chemist that can do it on a large scale as well as the ability to get massive quantity of precursor among other factors.
Also one must understand that now there are other molecules available that are easier to produce. The thing is that most people are in it for the money and the parties referenced above relative to LSD were not. Unfortunately that party is in prison and everyone close to him would be terrified to act. And as stated the precursor is not at all easy to get. And this all comes back to money. Most people are in for the bucks. If LSD was profitable it would be produced. One could get precursors from certain countries but it would be very very expensive and high risk. And you see nobody wants to go to prison for life for no money and a rare person who is willing to assume the risk has not surfaced and if they did the dead are gone and distribution would be difficult. |

Re: Who's got the acid?
acid in swim's city is probably in the top 3 drugs around..swim can't think of the last time he couldn't make a call to get a sheet of cid, and thats a pretty large amount in his opinion..but in all honesty i dont think acid is whats its all made out to be..i mean sure its an insane drug, but i dont think its all that good for recreational use...to weird to be around other people

IS SWIY sure that he/she is really calling for a sheet of LSD-25 and not a sheet of DOxxx or even worse 5-Meo-AMT? SWIYs statement that it's "not all that good for recreational use" makes SWIM doubt the purity of SWIY's LSD. Pure LSD-25 is one of life's great joys. Admittedly thats a matter of opinion, but how do SWIY's friends feel? If they all think the "acid" isn't all that great, there may be a reason. |
