Hey pplz,
Just wondering, i have heard alot about the use of some prescription drugs as an MAOI. Some can be used safely, and some are suggested not to be used at all.
My question is, does anybody know if Moclobemide (Manerix in America, Aurorix in Australia) would be a suitable MAOI for DMT?
I have found some information about Moclobemide which may help as iam lacking in brain chemistry knowledge.
"Moclobemide is a short-acting, reversible inhibitor of monoamine oxidase (MAO). It is a benzamide derivative which inhibits the deamination of serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. This action leads to increased concentrations of these neurotransmitters, which may account for the antidepressant activity of moclobemide."
"Moclobemide is a short-acting, selective and reversible monoamine oxidase type A inhibitor (RIMA). <NL>It is generally well tolerated in overdose when taken alone."
"The serotonergic effects of moclobemide may be enhanced by combination with tricyclic antidepressants, other monoamine oxidase inhibitors, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), lithium or serotonergic substances. A life-threatening serotonin syndrome consisting of hyperthermia, tremor and convulsions can develop when moclobemide is ingested with these drugs."
"Group
Psycholeptics</PIM1.2> (N06)/ Antidepressants</PIM1.2> (N06A)/
Non-hydrazide MAO inhibitors</PIM1.2> (N06A G02)."
<NL>I hope this info will help somebody answer my question. Thanks guys (and gals).
