I was wondering if anyone has had a severe reaction to taking suboxone. I did a lot of research on this drug and thought it would be a good medication for pain management, I found a dr who was able to prescribe it and began treatment. Starting with the first dose of 2mg I started feeling really crappy. The PA said it was because the dose was too low so they gave me another 2mg and a script for 8mg pills. As I continued to take this over the next few days I got more sick. Everytime I ate I would throw up I got these horrible migraines where I couldn't open my eyes. The Dr kept telling me that I wasn't taking enough and that what I was experiencing was withdrawal. I dont believe this because I was only taking 120mg hydrocodone a day not a lot for me and Ive gone 2-3 days cold turkey off of more than that and I can also switch to other agonist antagonists such as tramadol or nubain and not get sick. Sorry for going on so long but just wondering has anyone had any similar experiences am I allergic.

This is an interesting thread. I have never heard of this but everyone's body is different and thats why we have such a wide variety of pain medications. Some people seem to have a natural tolerance or a natural allergic reaction. I would be interested if anyone else in this forum heard of a similar reaction. I have used suboxone recreationally with friends a great deal and never heard of this happening but it possibly be your body just having a rare allergic reaction.

Suboxone contains Buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is a semi-synthetic opiate derived from thebaine. Thebaine is obviously the naturally occuring opioid found in papaver somniferums. 600µg is considered equivalent to 10mg morphine for pain relief.

Most of this information was found on erowid, I just wanted to give credit where credit is due.
