Hey everyone, i have a question (or my teacher does), and i'm turning to everyone here for help... and quickly if anyone happens to be surfing, i have class in 45 minutes. anyways.
It is in the story "Greasy Lake" By T. Coraghessan Boyle. And the refrence comes at the end of the story and says "She was fumbling in her pocket and muttering something. Finally she held out a handful of tablet in glassine wrappers: "Hey, you want to party, you want do some of these with me and Sarah?"
Now what i know is that glassine wrappers are essencially wax paper, so could it be pills of speed. mind you this was wirtten in 85. But the story is set in the 60/70's because they want to be "bad" and they talk about a 57 chevy, mint, metallic blue in the story. So i think it's more of the 60's or very late 50's.
Any ideas anyone??? Please help.

a quote i leave you with.
"They were both expert in the social graces, quick with a sneer, able to manage a Ford with lousy shocks over a rutted and gutted blacktop road at eighty-five while rolling a joint as compact as a Tootsie Roll Pop stick."
