Shroom hunting Shrooming in London

If you live in the UK, you would probably know that shrooms are now officialy banned. I know they grow in the wild here ( im originaly from South Africa ) but have no idea where to start looking. Do any of you have any good picking spots in and aroung london ?

Yeah im from the UK, it pissed me off about them banning itI've just given up on them.

Have you looked at any guides so you know which ones to pick? BecauseI really suggest that you dobefore you do picking or you could pick a posionous kind.


I dont really know anywhere in London where they grow, but look in a woody place,around 5-6am(not to sure about this, but I was told thats the best time to hunt for them).

The sad thing is, ive havent shroomed yet, and just when i thought i had the balls to go through with it. IT GOT BANNED, how unlucky is that. I know some people in brighton that can get hold of then easily enough, but still i thought it would add to the experience if i got them myself aswell.


Dont know if you know this, but an appeal has been made against the rulling , so its not totally over yet

Shroom season is just about to begin so I suggest looking around golf courses or well manured fields early in the morning in more rural areas. This might involve having to travel well outside London. The great thing about picking shrooms in the UK & Ireland is that the shrooms you're likely to find (Liberty caps) look nothing like poisonous shrooms. They are distinctively longer, have thin stems and have big cone-shaped caps with a little nipple on top. They are quite easily identifiable if you have the right guide. Whatever you do, don't pick any short-stemmed stumpy little black shrooms. Generally, they tend to be poisonous.Edited by: nature_boy_liam

Every pic of Liberty Caps I see on the net are low-res and blurry; and the colour of them various from one pic to the next....are liberty caps brown or white??!!! Different sources tell different tales...

They're brown usually but I have seen whitish/yellow Liberty caps. Here's three erowid photos to help you...

Golf couses are good places,check in the light rough just off the fairway.I just got 50 in about 20 minutes today. I suggest going in the early evening just before it gets dark so you are not seen.
