Sunday, September 11th, 2005 A Letter to All Who Voted for George W. Bush from Michael Moore To All My Fellow Americans Who Voted for George W. Bush: On this, the fourth anniversary of 9/11, I'm just curious, how does it feel? How does it feel to know that the man you elected to lead us after we were attacked went ahead and put a guy in charge of FEMA whose main qualification was that he ran horse shows? That's right. Horse shows. I really want to know -- and I ask you this in all sincerity and with all due respect -- how do you feel about the utter contempt Mr. Bush has shown for your safety? C'mon, give me just a moment of honesty. Don't start ranting on about how this disaster in New Orleans was the fault of one of the poorest cities in America. Put aside your hatred of Democrats and liberals and anyone with the last name of Clinton. Just look me in the eye and tell me our President did the right thing after 9/11 by naming a horse show runner as the top man to protect us in case of an emergency or catastrophe. I want you to put aside your self-affixed label of Republican/conservative/born-again/capitalist/ditto-head/rig ht-winger and just talk to me as an American, on the common ground we both call America. Are we safer now than before 9/11? When you learn that behind the horse show runner, the #2 and #3 men in charge of emergency preparedness have zero experience in emergency preparedness, do you think we are safer? When you look at Michael Chertoff, the head of Homeland Security, a man with little experience in national security, do you feel secure? When men who never served in the military and have never seen young men die in battle send our young people off to war, do you think they know how to conduct a war? Do they know what it means to have your legs blown off for a threat that was never there? Do you really believe that turning over important government services to private corporations has resulted in better services for the people? Why do you hate our federal government so much? You have voted for politicians for the past 25 years whose main goal has been to de-fund the federal government. Do you think that cutting federal programs like FEMA and the Army Corps of Engineers has been good or bad for America? GOOD OR BAD? With the nation's debt at an all-time high, do you think tax cuts for the rich are still a good idea? Will you give yours back so hundreds of thousands of homeless in New Orleans can have a home? Do you believe in Jesus? Really? Didn't he say that we would be judged by how we treat the least among us? Hurricane Katrina came in and blew off the facade that we were a nation with liberty and justice for all. The wind howled and the water rose and what was revealed was that the poor in America shall be left to suffer and die while the President of the United States fiddles and tells them to eat cake. That's not a joke. The day the hurricane hit and the levees broke, Mr. Bush, John McCain and their rich pals were stuffing themselves with cake. A full day after the levees broke (the same levees whose repair funding he had cut), Mr. Bush was playing a guitar some country singer gave him. All this while New Orleans sank under water. It would take ANOTHER day before the President would do a flyover in his jumbo jet, peeking out the widow at the misery 2500 feet below him as he flew back to his second home in DC. It would then be TWO MORE DAYS before a trickle of federal aid and troops would arrive. This was no seven minutes in a sitting trance while children read "My Pet Goat" to him. This was FOUR DAYS of doing nothing other than saying "Brownie (FEMA director Michael Brown), you're doing a heck of a job!" My Republican friends, does it bother you that we are the laughing stock of the world? And on this sacred day of remembrance, do you think we honor or shame those who died on 9/11/01? If we learned nothing and find ourselves today every bit as vulnerable and unprepared as we were on that bright sunny morning, then did the 3,000 die in vain? Our vulnerability is not just about dealing with terrorists or natural disasters. We are vulnerable and unsafe because we allow one in eight Americans to live in horrible poverty. We accept an education system where one in six children never graduate and most of those who do can't string a coherent sentence together. The middle class can't pay the mortgage or the hospital bills and 45 million have no health coverage whatsoever. Are we safe? Do you really feel safe? You can only move so far out and build so many gated communities before the fruit of what you've sown will be crashing through your walls and demanding retribution. Do you really want to wait until that happens? Or is it your hope that if they are left alone long enough to soil themselves and shoot themselves and drown in the filth that fills the street that maybe the problem will somehow go away? I know you know better. You gave the country and the world a man who wasn't up for the job and all he does is hire people who aren't up for the job. You did this to us, to the world, to the people of New Orleans. Please fix it. Bush is yours. And you know, for our peace and safety and security, this has to be fixed. What do you propose? I have an idea, and it isn't a horse show. Yours, Michael Moore www.michaelmoore.com mmflint@aol.com |

Michael Moore is a complete NUT.
You have but to listen to him speak in public (as I did when he addressed the Commonwealth Club of California several years ago), and you will see that this guy is so full of contempt and disdain for anything which could even remotely be considered "conservative" that it has warped his intellectual function. As a poster-boy for America's liberal fanatics, Moore's rants demonstrate more than just a slanted view on politics, and instead offer a glimpse into the twisted perspective of many of America's liberal socialists. http://www.leftwatch.com/archives/years/2002/00003 5.html Fuck all these small businesses - fuck 'em all! Bring in the chains. The small businesspeople are the rednecks that run the town and suppress the people. Fuck 'em all. That's how I feel. America's libs find themselves increasingly frustrated at the fact that they can no longer manipulate information in the mainstream media without being called into question. http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2001/12/ 3/215106.shtml http://www.bookreporter.com/reviews/0060520841.a sp Their main response to such inquiry is a textbook McCarthyist name-calling tactic: "You're just a right-wing wacko," or newly endeared term "Neo-con!" In other words, "If you don't agree with me, then you're some kind of a conservative/religious nut!" Clearly, that hasn't worked, and with a growing market of alternative media outlets, including information gathering resources available on the net (some, though not all, are admittedly far-right), these simplistic deflective tactics are no longer acceptable by the more widely informed public, and they will not be left unchallenged. Gone are the days when when liberal icons loomed as network deities never to be questioned or second-guessed, presenting their own political commentary as though it were FACT. But, while Dan Rather has become the personification that has validated decades-long claims of mainstream media liberal bias..: [http://www.mediaresearch.org/profiles/rather/crisis. asp] Michael Moore has positioned himself as the modern representative of America's Liberals, proving them to be on lunatic fringe of American culture with every outrageous statement he makes. The truly sad part of all this is that a when REAL justification can be made to examine critical events or conduct a crucial investigation, they come off as nothing more than partisan hacks, spouting the usual contentious rhetorical in yet another manufactured atmosphere of feigned indignation. You'ld think these people had never even heard the story of, The Boy Who Cried, "Wolf!" Edited by: Woodman |

it seems michael moore is just giddy that he has something else to rant about and be hateful towards george bush.
ok he's not the best president but dear god... enough with the exaggerations, like "are we safe with him as president?" do you seriously think things would be any better with kerry as president? ...i don't know maybe they would but it pisses me off when people can't wait for another horrible problem which they can blame on bush and get their jollies out of exaggerating or completely twisting the truth. don't get me wrong i'm not all gung ho for bush, but i hate to see him hated on by people who either don't know what they're talking about or simply making things up. disagree with him all you want, hell i do too, but there's no reason to HATE him unless you have met the guy and he has done some awful wrong towards you...which i doubt is true with anyone. |

yeah, little hard to take michael moore seriously. Personally i guess
i cannot say i hate bush as a person which almost everyone says they do, we dont know him hardly at all. I do however hate many of the things he does and i hate his warped view on the world. I would not just hate somebody because everyone else is, i choose to not like the actions he takes because in my mind there are many better solutions. Then again how are we to judge the decesions he makes without knowing all the "confidential" things that go on within the government. I believe we would be better off with kerry, but not by much. America as a whole needs to stop branding themselves with useless labels such as "republican", "democrat", "liberal". The only way to acheive great things is to rid ourselves of these labels. People who agree most with republicans will vote republican and so on. I see it as if there were no groups of people and people ran for a presidency based on their views and policies without having to conform to a guideline, we would start to see presidents that we chose because their overall views are the best. There is very few people who will agree with 100% of a groups views and policies, so we are forced to choose a group that we dont wholeheartidly agree with. Michael moore, bush, everyone should see that with limits, we only limit our growth. There is my adderall induced rant, just an opinion. |

Yes well.
Let's start off with Michael Moore. Michael Moore is somewhat of a populist. Like Rush Limbeaugh, Bill Riley, Ann Cultur, All Franken and... I could go on 4 a while. Sure, there are both sides of the extreme. When I read that little peace of Michael Moore, I think of many things. Such as a former Whitehouse staff member who told the world Bush was a puppet of Donald Rumsfield, Dick Cheney and the most evil man of all, Karl Rove. And if u think about it, well, it kinda sounds realistic. Bush does have that pretty face, that naive cuddly look over him, and his name, his name of course. Bush probably isn’t as diabolical as many think. For Bush is a "if you think about it, i'm a media creation, i've never had a regular job." Then there's the question of what he says is, in fact, true. Sure Bush was running late for Katrina and one might hope that a smarter and more able president such as CLINTON(say what you will of him, but he woulda used this photo opportunity to say the least), would have been there quicker. What to make of the fact that he appoints people with, well, little expertise, for important positions. Yes, Clinton loved to put friends in important places. But, ya know, at least Clinton's friends were “hella” smart and educated. With all due respect to people who run horse shows, for that’s what brown really did, I wonder if Brown was capable of organising shit, in a very bad situation. Then, if the numbers are true, which they are. America has a problem. It would seem that many in the land of the free are slaves of poverty. Tax-cut for the rich? I'm not sure it's necessary. Please don't tell me about that 2000 and something tax cut for the middleclass. If u wanna know why not, ask me. Otherwise, except that somehow the rich mostly benefited from the tax cut for the middle class. No, America isn't a poor country. Iraq and, in my opinion, mismanagement is draining her. Further the question arises, is America safer? Well, do you feel it's safer? Or, was America safe to start out with? Just go to your local 7/11. Tell me, are/were the borders secure? Not really! They weren't safe, and they aren't today! The war in Iraq isn't making America any safer either! Or, I don’t think it is! Americans, with out knowing it, your government has frightened you as much as you should be frightened. If a group of terrorist really wants to, there is no way you can stop them! Fly in to America? Dangerous! Fly in to Mexico and jump the border? Hola Mexico! For all those who disagree with me, especially woodman. Woodman, of course your sources, are slightly biased. But, should you say: “That’s a good source.” I would have to disagree severely with you. Do you know that in the literature I've been reading, exactly the same statements are made as in that little article you posted. Both sides seem to make the same accusations. Woodman, I challenge you, in the most respectful manner of sorts, to point out to me which liberal is as single-minded, blasphemous, bad-mouthed and just all out evil, as left watch says. BUT, your source must be considered "Main Stream" media. Meaning quality papers as LA or NY Times, Washington Post, I'm most surten you know what I mean. Should you come up with anything, you will win the argument, but, not before your material is better and greater in number, than mine. Are you ready to smash a liberal in the face with proof that he is an idiot? Or, are you preoccupied? In which case I will understand, but regret, your withdrawal from the argument. I do have a few questions and I would appreciate your answers very much. If you sincerely believe that "the mainstream" media is in hands of those evil liberals. Would you be so kind as to name a few of these shamefully liberal media sources? "Widely informed public, and they will not be left unchallenged." Fox, is unbiased news and their viewers are well informed, right? Prove it to me please! When your done doing that, please prove to me, that a channel of your choosing, considered liberal, is biased and that there viewers are uninformed. It seems to me slightly ironic that evil liberals, such as myself, have learned such a great amount, or so we are accused of, of an evil REPUBLICAN named McCarthy. I really, as a liberal I'm very compassionate with the poor, am sorry for the poor people that believe the shit left watch and co publish. Were these masters in the dark arts before me I would ask of them: "Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?" |

The only difference that I see in temperament between liberals and republicans is that when I challenge a republican to back his premise he's likely to cite issues, events, and political motives. They all eventually fall into one of two groups.
The first group (seeing that they have not much substance to back their position) will resort to saying "well, it's better than...[insert leftist topic, here.]". The second group (having lost the intellectual high ground) will eventually resort to name calling, accusing their detractors of having a partisan agenda and calling them "Liberals", "Leftists", or "Communist/Socialist", etc. But when I challenge a liberal to back their premise, they react as though I had spit at a sacred statue of their god atop the revered alter of liberalism. I am immediately met with personal attacks and accusations of harboring partisan interests. I've gotta admit that I have fun with it just because they are so easy to tweak and it really doesn't take much to make them go bonkers. I think that people who follow a liberal or republican agenda are either too lazy, or too busy (or perhaps just too stupid) to realize that such partisan political agendas are just a tool used to polarize the public and draw attention away from the real issues that make a difference. P!MPJU!C3, why don't you post links to back-up your own claims instead of calling upon me to submit evidence in perpetuity? If you do that, it might actually begin to look like you had a basis for making your claims to begin with instead of posting merely as a reactionist gesture to what someone else wrote. . |

Politicians are the worst form of human. They lie, minipulate, cheat, steal and take advantage of anyone stupid enough to trust them. That is the only way a politician can become successful. It makes no difference who you vote for each election, your just picking your poison. On the other hand, Michael Moore is just as big of a douche bag.
