an odd incidence swia dont smoke tobacco with swias j's or at all for that
matter, how ever when ever the cat is in the room with us settled
she'll stay for the gange but smoke tobacco she'll leave it is odd. the
other thing swia noticed when swia was on mushrooms swia was up the stairs
when the cat spotted me and ran up to me keeping me company she
would not leave my side. in the end we snuggled it was quite
calming having her around . On walks on drinking cactus juice
(which contains mescaline) swia walked past some horses. now the first
person walked past sober they didn't notice him swia walked past
quietly and they lifted there heads and got closer to the fence, they
were staring at me as if they new swia was altered. on high dose trips
the cat talk to me in from her head as if swia was telapathic. although
this could be due to your ego splitting

It's funny, people describe here how cats and dogs dislike drug use, i.e. smoking weed or tobacco (which, I think, is a logical consequence of smoke disapproval, most animals hate smoke) but notice change in consciousness. It's funny, because I tend to be down-to-earth whenit comes to these kind of things and I also had the expirience that my cat understood me. It looked me in the eyes for an exceptionally long time and just laid down (which it never does, it is an abyssinian, which are rather busy all the time ). It's funny.





I think this is related to the topic of 'joining a trip' without taking the substance in question, i.e. sitters often expirience euphoria with the people tripping. It might be the same for certain animals.

this is an old thread, but i feel i should contribute to it, as it sparked quite an interest.

swim has noticed when he smokes weed, his cats are both very friendly and loving. however one of the cats, which will go by F, tends to come into swim's room when he plays guitar. evidently enough, swim has a habit of playing guitar when he smokes weed. he has only given a shotgun to one of his cats, once, and it ran off in disgust. anyway, F will randomly decide to make the travel from the living room to swim's room, almost sensing that he is high. even if he doesnt smell like pot, the cat still comes in the room, and will either lay next to swim or on him if he is laying down.

perhaps the cat is hoping that swim will play music, or maybe it just likes the company of a high swim

one time when swim was on mushrooms he was sitting outside on the deck having a cig with his friend's when his girlfriends cat comes up to him. The cat seemed to be triiping as weel. it is hard to describe. the cat even managed to jump up on a 9 foot high canopy and was sliding every which way down it like it was fucking with us. in swim's opinion animals are just tryign to fuck with us cause they dont have much else goin on in there lives.

HA, I have a funny story about SWIM's girlfriend's frooty, prissy, poofball male dog. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but the dog is NOT masculine AT ALL. It's a boy dog, but it's just so prissy and proper and it's never EVER humped anything--that is NOTHING has been humped by poor little male, asexual, frooty little poofball dog.

Then one day, SWIM decided that "Cottonball" needed to get high. REALLY HIGH. and so SWIM proceeded to get Cottonball stoned as shit.

Well, Cottonball was obviously changing. Soon, when no one was looking, (while being high), he started gyrating his hips, and literally trying to hump and fuck EVERYTHING soft and small that he could wrap his front legs around!

I mean, this was the funniest shit SWIM's ever seen--the dog just fucking away at anything and everything, and his girlfriend, trying not to laugh, yelling at Cottonball, and throwing pillows at him--trying to make him turn back into asexual being.

So, few weeks go by, and Cottonball hasn't humped anything since he sobered up. SWIM fired up, blew some in his face, and again, Cottonball literally dry-fucked everything he could find AGAIN!! and when you would laugh and try to scold him, he'd eventually let go and try to walk away from the object of his hump... but for about 5-8 steps, he would be still humping the air as he walked away, looking at you. IT WAS HILARIOUS!

Well, now, anytime the dog smells ANY TYPE OF WEED SMELL, in other words, you don't even have to blow it on him... just the smell of it will throw him into a humping frenzy!

Swim thinks it's only mean if they do not consent to it. Trust me, if you know your animal, you'll know if they consent and enjoy getting high. Swim has had some animals that are always down to get stoned, some that do not like it al all and leave the room when it's lit, and currently has a couple cats that jump into rotations sometimes when they want to get high, and leave the room sometimes if they do not. These cats are crazy. One of them steals and eats mushrooms whenever they get a chance. They both seem to be tripping whenever we are tripping, and they try to communicate.

It's crazy. These are the wildest cats. They are both boys, brothers of the same litter, and both fixed. However every once in a while to show align dominance over their situation one will rape the other. (yes, that's right, incestual gay fixed male cats that are picky chronic snobs and like to trip.)

I know, it SOUNDS mean. And, I had a serious problem with it also, until I met someone who got his cats and dogs high all the time. it was great. they are hilarious stoned. and I don't mean that in an exploitive, "hahaha, he's making a fool of himself" kind of way.

No, ANY OTHER DRUGS on the other hand is fucking terribly irresponsible. TERRIBLE! I'm not kidding. kids feeding animals LSD, shrooms, XTC, amphetamines, etc. need to be strung up by their nads. SHITTY!!!

Yeah they way SWIM finds is acceptable is to blow smoke in their face once, and if they like it they come back for more. SWIMs friend has 2 little cats, he blew smoke to both of them, 1 backed off and went to lay down, while the other sat there while hit after hit was blown at it. Now every time SWIM smokes weed over there that cat comes over for more, not to mention digging into his pants pockets for the bag, trying to claw it out of his hands, and scarfing down any weed you feed to it.

What's really mean is what my old neighbors did to their dogs!

They had a small backyard with a chainlink fence and a couple of trees back there, but no grass, and no shade (skinny trees). In the place of grass was a whole 10 feet square plot of dirt and dogshit. also there were chewed-up leashes and old ropes underneath the newer, working ropes that the dogs were tied up with. (the old lady was "afraid the dogs would get out and bite a small child" as she said)

Sometimes, when it would rain, the dirt would all turn into mud. This was interesting because although the dogs were SUPER friendly (a lab and a lab-shepard mix), they always got literally COVERED in gross, black mud. They'd slosh mud all around on each other and everything. It was disgusting. But, I guess that's to be expected when you don't have a covered patio or a doghouse or anything like that.

Then, the next day, the mud would start to dry up in the yard. eventually, there'd only be a couple of main mud-holes remaining in the entire yard. And, interestingly enough, the dogs would seem to steer as far as possible away from that muddy, foamy, frothy water! I could never figure out how they could be so judgemental of the mud-puddles when THE DOGS THEMSELVES were literally coated in 2-3 inches of disgusting, smelly, caked-on dried mud. Their coats would hang down (especially the mutt--he had long hair) in giant clumps of caked-on dry dirt-balls.

And when I'd walk by, they'd still come running up to greet me, desperate for a "hello dog" or "fuck off mutt" or a treat or a bone or a toy or SOMETHING! but goddammit, they didn't even have anything like that. just some shit-bag owners who were never there who left a food-dispenser and water bowl attached to the hose so the dogs couldn't kill themselves through suicidal starvation.

This is "really mean" if you ask me.

SWIM has noticed that both animals and small children react positively toward her while she is under the influence of anything (well, besides alcohol..that just turns SWIM into a big bitch). The first time SWIM rolled, she was at a friend's house..he has two kids ages 4 & 5, and they both came out of their room to chill with SWIM - usually they didn't give a damn. SWIM read books to them and played with glowsticks with them. They were super happy and energetic - feeding off of SWIM's energy perhaps?

SWIM's dog *always* follows her around the house when she smokes weed..one of SWIM's cats also loves to sit around her when she smokes, and even likes to get high himself The last time SWIM rolled, the stoner cat sat by her the whole time and wanted to play.

People and animals can tell when another's mood changes. Think about when someone in a seriously bad mood comes around you - you can sense it. You can "tell" when something is wrong, when someone doesn't feel right, etc. Animals are masters of this, hell..they can sense when a storm is brewing miles and miles away. They go crazy. Why would it be any different when they're in the presence of another's euphoria?

SWIM agrees with Jatelka. Animals do not have the ability to make the choice, and if one does not know how they feel about it, it is unfair to assume they like it. Imagine having someone drop a large amount of THC in a straight person's coffee. If you are not expecting it or prepared for it, this is an evil thing to do. One of SWIM's dogs once ate a large amount of weed SWIM had left out. Normally they ignore it, but it was in a plastic bag that contained a sandwich. SWIM's dog was not having any fun, and seemed terrified for the first few hours. SWIM felt really guilty.SWIM also once accidentally blew some smoke in one of SWIM's cat's face, and she seemed to be unhappy. SWIM felt really bad about that too. SWIM thinks some animals probably like it just like people, but it is unfair to give it to them when you do not know how they will react. They do not have the ability to consent to such a thing.
On the topic, SWIM's pets do not seem to respond differently to SWIM being stoned, though they do not like the smoke, but tripping they pick up on. SWIM's dogs will follow SWIM around and the cats act weird. SWIM thinks there is some truth to the concept of a contact high, and SWIM thinks that pets are very tuned into their owners and share some level of collective consciousness with them.

It is the wrong thing to do. Animals cannot choose to get loaded, and forcing drugs on them not only has unknown consequences to their health and state of mind. Since SWIY cannot know what animals are experiencing, it wrong to alter their consciousness. For an animal that does not know what is going on, it cause anxiety and be frightening.

swim has had a few very strange experiences with animals whilst under the effect of tryptamines (never with phens tho...?). Once swim and his foaf were in a field and had a group of deer come up to them, poking around. swim and swims foaf were just sitting on the side of hill and the deer joined them for about a half an hour.

similar things have happened with rabbits although they still seemed fearful but willing to not run away.

swim usually doesn't use directly around his animal roommates, but once swim had a crazy dmt exp where the cats jumped upon the couch and rolled around on their backs on swims lap and legs! very strange behavior for these cats!
