Demerol

I have recently come across about 30 50mg demerol pills. I have taken codeine before but thats about all the experience i have with opiates. I looked around but could not find much information on the subject. Does anyone have any information regarding the dosage, addiction potential, ect. of demerol?

okay, first things first. demerol and tramadol do NOT fall into the same category. Depending on your body chemistry and your reaction to opiates, demerol (meperdine) can be extremely addictive. The pills you found can be swallowed,snorted,or cold shot, and for someone with a low opiate tolerance overdose is a very real possibility having that many at hand. But anyway, Have fun with em and be careful, and don't for one second think that tramadol and ultram are in a class with demerol.

If Demerol and Ultram are in the same class then I have 1000+ Ultram thatI will trade anyone for the same number of Demerol pills.

right on skeeber. I got a lifetime script of tramadol that my doc switched me to from percs when he found out I was abusing them. Damn him. But yeah, will gladly trade in a purely fictional sense, of course . And also some ocean front property for whoever would trade demerol for tramadol.

I went the opposite way with my doc, went from tramadol to percs.I had more side effects and a greater dependency on the tramadol. Lucky me!

Just in case anyone was wondering I took 3 and it was great. I got kind of dizzy on the come down but otherwise good experience. Would do again but with no more than 150-200mgs

Anyway, SWIM has never had the pleasure of trying Demerol (well, maybe in his younger days when he would pop anything a friend would hand him), but SWIM finds Tramadol to be a pretty fun drug.
SWIM says he could enjoy a couple drinks on Tramadol (unlike most other opiates), and he and his girlfriend would be so happy and content with each other it would bring them to tears they were so happy (literally. SWIM remembers one occasion where they went for a walk on Tramadol and ended up crying in each others arms because they were SO damned happy. hahaha).
What great times. This was before he has done heroin a ton of times, so he isn't sure if it still has that magic to it..

SWIM had a prescription for some Demerol.

SWIM takes 3-4 pills at a time, SWIM noted that his saliva becomes more "foamy", and gets a bad case of cotton mouth also.

SWIM further told me that while taking Demerol, he found that he slurred his speech like being drunk.

SWIM sometimes breaks one of the red capsules open when he only wants to bump up the pleasure by taking an additional half of the powder. SWIM hasn't snorted Demerol, but likes to dump some powder on the granite counter and then pick up the powder with a wet finger... SWIM found the taste of Demerol to be like a fine wine, something that just kinda grows on you and your palate

BTW, the Phenergan makes SWIM very sleepy.

Demerol is a very very potent narcotic. It is actually very similar to Morphine and reacts different in people that are either opiate naive or different in the sense that certain people are just different in their tolerence. Demerol has been stated to work better than Morphine in certain patients, so I would place Demerol up there with Percocet, Dilauded, Morphine, etc..

Ahhhhhh Demerol.... During my first of five surgeries I was put on a Demerol pump. Can't quite remember the dosage but I got to push the button every hour and would nod quite nicely! As for Tramadol being in the same class, it's not. If your looking for a cousin to Demerol (meperdine) diphenoxylate is the one your after. Look it up. I have been on it for quite a while to treat my chronic diarrhea. They put atropine in it to discourage abuse. It's definitely closer to Demerol than Tramadol.

Well, Tramadol isn't considered a true controlled substance, and Demerol is a very potent opioid, so therefore it wouldn't make any sense to put both of them in the same group. Tramadol is a synthetic agent that treats moderate to severe pain in a different way than Demerol does. Meperidine (Demerol) is a quickly acting opioid analgesic that is also used to treat moderate to severe pain, but it affects the brain differently than Tramadol does. Surely there is the potential for abuse in Tramadol, but it isn't as likely as Demerol.

Exactly! I find it quite humorus that when I was seeing my Doc at the free clinic she made me sign a contract for tramadol but not for diphenoxylate, and now that im seeing just my GI Doc I dont have to sign any contracts for my codeine or my diphenoxylate. Funny how things work when you find a compasionate doctor that actually understands your situation. I suppose thats what happens when really helpful substances get demonized. People start beliveing everyone is on a mission to get high.

Of course, and I would safely say that more than half of the doctors in this country are always assuming that people are just looking to get high off of potentially addictive medications, unless they have a legitimate cause for the medication. But a lot of doctors tend to tell their patient's that it is mind over matter. Well, I have my foot doctor backing my up, and I am happy because he told me that some specialists will try and tell me that it is mind over matter, so if that happens, the specialists simply call my doctor and he tells them the news. It hasn't happened, but it's always good to have the backup. (It isn't mind over matter, I am in such excrutiating pain, that I literally get sick from it.)
