Bong/pipe tobacco

I bought some vanilla flavoured pipe tobacco, and some apple flavoured water pipe tobacco to try out (ive smoked it before, but this is the first time i actually bought it). But both of them are all wet and stuff.

Whats the deal? Can you smoke it with just a lighter, or do you need to put that coal stuff on it like they do in some café's? And how well does it mix with hash?

Should be ok to smoke just using a lighter and should mix just as well with hash as normal tobacco.
