Getting scripts, legally

Ok, back in the day SWIM was prescribed Paxil for an anxiety
disorder. SWIM took his medication for a while then stopped seing
his therapist...

Now years later, SWIM has become very interested in Benzo's...

If SWIM when back to a therapist/psychiatrist with tales of new
developed anxiety, night sweats, panic attacks and fear of starting
college again, with are the chances that SWIM can get something
good? SWIM would tell the doctor Paxil did not work, and
something stronger is required...

Xanax or lorazepam or something else good possible?

I forgot to mention. SWIM has never been arrested for anything, been in rehab for drug use, failed a drug test or anything...

Everything said would be 100% honest truth. However SWIM decides to take his medication would be another story...

They'll give you something like Effexor first. They won't give a
benzodiazepine to a person that needs to concentrate on anything - e.g.
a person going to school. Then again, some of the older docs
maygive you a BZD out of habit.

Hmm, well what if SWIM took that and looked up it's side effects and
told the doctor that it didn't do a damn thing other than give SWIM
[side effect].

Then he'll give you Cymbalta, then Paxil, then Wellbutrin, then
citalopram. If you want to try it, go to an older good 'ol boy
type that hasn't touched a medical journal in a long time.

Wellbutrin isn't for anxieties its for depression. I think wellbutrin would acyually make it worse.

I guess you're right that it isn't formally used for anxiety. But
off-label it's also used ADHD, smoking cessation, neuraligia, and a
motley assortment of other crap. It's a drug for which its
pharmacology is unknown. I wouldn't be surprised if it had an off
label indication for anxiety, to be honest.

Old records? what do you mean by records? My doc just gives me a
script, I take it to pharm, they fill it and keep the script.
I've never been handed a piece of paper that I keep. Do you mean
contact my psychiatrist and ask them for some sort of document? im
confused?
