LSD Psychotherapy (Stan Grof)

Anyone familiar with Stanislav Grof's theories regarding deep serial
internalized LSD sessions? The healing potential seems
extrememly great and it is most unfortunate that this practice has been
discontinued due to legal issues.

Basically he studied LSD use in individuals who took large doses ~300
ug, wore eye shades (darkness with eyes open and closed) and had
big headphones on with primal/trance music playing nonstop for the
whole peak. This in effect would totally cut off the
patient from the outside world and the only place to explore would be
in thier own mind.

Have you guys ever done this before? like 5 hours of
eyeshades (or a dark room) and music never stopping to change the CD's
while on a large dose. What happens is some pretty crazy shit and
it has the potential to be extrodinarily </span>healing if the LSD is serially administered and the patient goes through the death-rebirth process.

I did this for about 3 high dose trips and it was absolutly
nuts. I'm ready to continue with the therapy next
week.

If you're familiar with the psychoanalytic/ perinatle/
transpersonal realms of the unconscious while on high doses
of LSD let me know.

Grof and his birth-trauma theories are well known. And borderline Freudian in nature. He seems to think you must go through the birth canal to be healed. I knew some people who followed his theories - into the Twilight Zone. They had some of the most uptight and anxiety-filled experiences on LSD I've ever seen. Yet they kept trying for the "magical ride through the uterus" over and over again!

I avoided them after I'd figured them out. Sad to say, I had magical experiences without being squeezed and suffocated in the womb a second time! Hahahahaha!!Edited by: nagognog2

Re: LSD Psychotherapy (Stan Grof)

It is a shame his Lsd Psychotherapy (as of now) had to remiss because of totalitarian governments. It seems that western law-makers (and thats not the people) recognizes the potentials of conscious-altering pyschoactives such as cannabis, pilocybin containing mushrooms, peyote, dmt, and other various forms of psychedelics. Down with Intolerance!
Yea I have read the Holotropic Mind by Grof. Amazing. He's definately got merit and arguable validity to his assertions and prepositions. He never stated things absolutely; it is usually in a nature similar to,... through further investigation, other research may indicated a likewise relationship that manifests itself in the physical world... and then orient the findings.
One particular assertion that I specifically remember was one concerning plants. He stated that it seemed plausible that plants were spiritual; yet, they had less ways of expressing their spirituality.
And I just watched the Big-Combo, a film-noir classic, where a gardener gets complimented on her beuatiful and vulumptious garden, and she states, "you gotta love 'em, they know the difference.'
thus plants had the ability to discern if their caregiver's found their existence as a pleasant experience or as more a burden
