Salvia divinorum vs magic Mushrooms / Acid?

I've been reading up a lot about salvia and have decided that I want to try it. A psychadelic experience more intense than LSD (as some say) but that only lasts a few minutes sounds very appealling to me. I just wanted to get a rough idea what I should be prepared for mentally apart from all the physical preparations (sitter/comfortable, safe environment, waterbong etc.). The strongest psychadelics I've experimented with have been LSD and psilocybin mushrooms. How does salvia compare to these visually and emotionally (if at all?)? Can anyone describe to me what it feels like?

Also, I will be getting the salvia in fresh leaf form. I intend to smoke it rather than ingest it but how much do you recommend for a first timer, albeit a first timer with good experience with other hallucinogenic plants/drugs?
