All right SWIM took his 50mgKadian. Crushed it up took about 2/3s of it orally and then gave some to his friends. About 30minutes before i drank a glass of grapefruit juice and took 2 calcium TUMS. Felt the pill FAST and pretty intensely at first but then mellowed out real quick. I thought it was supposed to make it last longer. Still feel good, SWIM aint complainging. SWIM loves his drugs.

Still drinking the juice...

When SWIM uses opiates, the same thing happens, it almost seems as if what he would think to be the comeup is the actual high itself.

after doing some research (and this is kind of an old thread) swim believes that grapefruit juice actually won't work for codeine. it somehow inhibits the metabolism of codeine to morphine, so that your high is less intense. somethin to look out for if swiy has t3's on hand. but for any other opiate/opioid, grapefruit juice and tums both work excellent. swim has also found that 30 mg of dxm can potentiate an opiate high by about 30%, in his rough estimation.

SWIM would like to thank everyone on this thread. He didn't know about any of these potentators. SWIM tried grapefruit juice and noticed a length increase in 30 mgs hydro. by hours. It really works for him. Any longterm adverse affects though?

swim gets phenergan (promethazine) prescribed for nausea it is a good opiate potentiater swim can shoot half of what he normally does and it works good trust me

oh reeeally? SWIM has tons of Phenegran lying around. Most of it in suppository form but quite a few pills still. SWIM might even be able to get a script going if it really does potentiate like you say it does.

if it inhibits dopamine how does it help opiates? swim finds ssri/antipsychotics to totally kill the opiate buzz.

Phenegran inhibits dopamine? Im not sure. SWIM just saw someones post stating that Phenegran does potentiate opiates and has found other documentation on the web that states the same thing.

SWIM hasnt ever tried it. Just noted what some others had said previously.

If swiy read any flyers that the pharmacy gives with opiate type meds swiy will see it says not to drink grapefruit juice with them. Thats how swim started doing it.

thanks for the post with juice...looks like it works...SWIM drank it about 40 minutes before...ate 280 mg of codeine...also drank two shots of rhum...and was totally f..... up, high like never before...SWIM was (and still is) so slowed, every part of his body itched, he had red eyes like he was stoned...
SWIM had (still having) fun, but he better take a rest with these opiods

try taking two or three of the tums half an hour beforehand, and another two at the time of oxy ingestion, swiy wants the stomach to be as basic as possible (it'll still be mostly acidic, but the tums will raise the ph slightly, and taking some at the time of ingestion will ensure that the ph stays up while the oxy is absorbed).

SWIM is wondering if grapefruit juice, tagament and/or DXM potentation works for rectal administration of Hydrocodone (after CWE).

Becuase grapefruit and tagament work on the liver and not the stomach, SWIM assumes the answer is yes -- it will potentate regardless of the method of delivery. However, SWIM is just not sure.

What is the mechanism for DXM potentation? Does it make any sense for SWIM to try DXM if delivering the Hydrocodone rectally?

Also, SWIM has had good luck getting the most out of Tramadol (Ultracet) using CWE then rectal administration. The onset was much quicker, the results were significantly stronger. However, the feeling was much more "speedy" than other opiates -- let's just say that SWIM's bathroom was extremely clean the next morning.

DXM also exerts its potentiation effects through liver enzymes. So, SWIY is correct, these potentiators SWIY has mentioned will work regardless of the route of hydrocodone administration. Just keep in mind that swallowing DXM, grapefruit juice, and tagamet will still lead to a delay of their effects before they reach the liver, so take them orally about 45 minutes to an hour before administering the hydrocodone rectally. Because, let's face it, not many people are going to be too keen on a grapefruit juice enema.

SWIM is a thankful former smoker, but remembers that in years past, nicotine (via cigarettes or nicorette lozenges) greatly potentiated hydrocodone, if only for a short period of time. SWIM remembers many times when a modest vicodin high would transform into a nodding, itching, throwing-up high after a few cigarettes.

SWIM thinks she's making up lots of words, based on "potentiation", in this post.

I agree with you here. SWIM can smoke 5x as much when on opiates. SWIM just thought that it was the nicotine SWIM was feeling. Maybe a sustained release patch would be nice

AFAIK, that is not true. DXM exerts its effects via its antagonism of the NMDA receptors which reverse opiate tolerance somewhat.

Hi! Newbie here!
I need to know what SWIM/SWIY means! I know it means refering to something/one.
But my real question is: I have Ehlers Danlos III & I am on 168 30mg Dihydrocodiene per 28 days. I also get 15 2mg Diazepam. Can someone simply tell me what is the best method of getting the most out of my meds. Aswell as getting relief from the constant pain I also enjoy the warm fuzzy feeling from them. So do I drink grapefruit juice, take antacids ETC. I am also a weed smoker so keep it nice & simple please

All help gratefully accepted. This forum is sooo great, lots of great info!!

Due to opana er release system(TIMERx) very clever yet simple release system,swim believes that chewing or take with small amount of alcohol is the only way swiy can boost effects(by up to 60-70%)so take care..

Welcome to DF swim dares not give swiy to much info until i fully understand poss side effects that some potentiators may have.
Do swim a favour and post reply in "pain relief help needed" thread~ list all meds that swiy is taking "warfarin,beta-blockers,asprin" and i promise i will reply(later on).Failing that look up CYP2D6 potentiators.
