Drug info - Diazepam 10mg

Already had 7, is it safe to take any more?
Coming down off a big bender and cant sleep, would it is un-wise to take any more ?

The most anyone SWIM knows has taken is 6 of these and they had some amnesia from it that night so if swiy is already at 7 then swiy might want to stop there in less swiy don't plan on remembering much and don't care about blackouts. Some of the 10mg are not as strong though SWIM has been told if they are generic, more like 5mg's they reported, these weren't generics.

It is not wise to take more, especially as SWIY said s/he is coming down off a "big bender." If, by this, SWIY mean they have been drinking alcohol (or taking ANY other CNS depressants), then 70mg wasn't safe - mixing two CNS depressants can lead to respiratory depression, which could cause SWIY to stop breathing. Mixing CNS depressants can be lethal.

Also, as with a lot of medication the side effects are often dose related.
High doses can lead to amnesia, confusion, muscle weakness, gastro-intestinal disturbances, urinary retention or incontinence, depression with suicidal ideation, and paradoxical side effects such as agitation, anxiety, anger/rage, aggression.
After 70mg it could actually be the diazepam that is keeping SWIY awake.

Generic diazepam is not weaker than brand. 10mg is 10mg.

SWIM knows 10mg is 10mg....SWIM has only been told by other SWIMMERs that have consumed the generics and many have stated they don't do them justice; felt like 5mg. Maybe cheaper quality is used and results in less effect or Maybe it is psychological on their part?

Its like 10g of mephedrone is 10g of mephedrone but don't tell me that there aren't differences in quality from batch to batch.
Some batches are just better and cheaper generics aren't always the same quality. Might be 10mg but 10mg of a lesser quality product. SWIM does not always agree with this swims self though...because this other SWIM uses generics without complaint.

This is going off topic but -
If diazepam is obtained via illegal routes then there may be a difference in quality/strength. It may not be diazepam at all.
If, however, they are produced by a large pharmaceutical company and are of the variety prescribed by doctors, then any difference in effect reported by SWIY’s friends is purely psychological.

SWIM has been prescribed diazepam for several months each year for the last few years. She says she has had both brand and generic diazepam and has never noticed any difference. If there was a difference, and these generic medicines were of lesser quality or strength than stated, or varied from batch to batch, then the producers would not be granted a licence for their product, nor would the generics be prescribed (at least in the UK).

SWIM doesn’t think mephedrone can be compared to a pharmaceutically produced, tested and trialled medicine. When SWIM said “10mg is 10mg” she meant that there is 10mg of the active substance in the tablet, not that they weigh 10mg.
