Angry I've stopped taking SUBOXONE..Why cant i simply feel the high of opiates again?????!

I have been on a steady dose of 12mg daily for the past 6 months. I have tried on about 4 occaisons to take a "break" and get high once or twice. I've tried waiting 24 hours, 48, then 72 hours. and nothing worked i never felt a damn thing, i jsut kept getting more pissed off i was wasting money to feel nothing. Finally i came across a formula that tells exactly how much you have in your body at any given time, for any combination of doses. This time i waited about 2 days without takign my suboxone. then i took 20 mg methadone the third day, 30 mg dones the 4th day, 15 mg the 5th day...( i took the dones b/c i simply could not wait 4 or 5 days and take nothing...so these were cheap and prevented any kind of withdrawls from stopping my subs) on the 6th day...144 hours later of NO SUBOXONE i did 1, then 2 80mg OXYCONTIN.....FELT ALMOST NOTHING! no euphoria thats for sure....and thats what im craving to feel. ALl that happened was i nodded out alot and fell asleep. but i didnt even feel good. WHAT THE HELL? before starting suboxone 80 mg OC a day was my habit...and 1 got me kinda high then jsut made me feel normal...and 2 80 mg OC would get me pretty high for awhile at least.....

So why the fuck am i not getting high AT ALL 6 months later after having not taken anything other then suboxone over this time period??? I even took an amount that guarteed would make me high when i was using all the time. I've not found one thread claimign you need to wait any longer then 100 hours, ive surpassed that by 2 and now 3 days. About an hour ago, on my 7th day and 168th hour i did another 80 mg OXY still feel absolutley nothing, not even nodding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME?????????? i offically quit this experiment, going back on the subs as of tom. no more wasting my money for nothing.....it wont be long until i completely forget what it feels like to have that wonderful opiate high. great.

Basically i think this suboxone crap actually INCREASES your tolerance for opiates....and that if your takign suboxone longterm it seems to me that it takes weeks if not months to be able to get high on opiates again.

Re: I've stopped taking SUBOXONE..Why cant i simply feel the high of opiates again???

It has to do with buprenorphine's unusually high binding affinity to mu-opiate sites, and a very long half-life, some like 72-hrs mean time. That means that if you are on opposite sides of the door, he can keep it closed longer and harder as it's a long-acting med, as opposed to say oxycodone, which is shorter acting (oxycontin would be considered long-acting if not tampered with, but the oxycodone itself still doesn't hold the door as tight)

hope that helped swiy

well if swiy was trying to get clean in the first place, I'd consider it a blessing! Imagine if they made a pill for addicts to have them stop feeling opiates... gettin clean would be easy as cake! Maybe this is for the better, opiate addiction ain't all that fun when you can't get high, ain't it? Calling it quits might be a good thing at this point.

Re: I've stopped taking SUBOXONE..Why cant i simply feel the high of opiates again???

Yes i suppose it is a blessing in disguise. I spent way too much money, wasted too much time, and jumped through all sorts of hoops to try and chase that old high from way back when. Come to think of it though, before i went on suboxone i think it had been months since i actually got high, all i was doing was using to feel normal and avoid withdrawls.

I started back on suboxone today no problem, i thought id get preciptated withdarwls that everyopne talks about but i had none. NOw i have that itch that needed to be scratched gone. I wont ever attempt to stop the suboxone and get high again. its not worth it at all!! So anyone thinking about doing the same...dont make the same mistake i did. Be happy your on suboxone living a normal life, not wasting money on drugs. Iactually find that i feel better on suboxone then i did when i was trying to get high. It puts me in a really really good mood and i am more productive and get alot done. What more could you ask for?
