Does anyone know the process of separating the mitragynine alkaloid
from kratom extract. How do you refine it or separate the alkaloid from the plant waxes, oils and tannins? I use and iso-2 to extract the resins using ethyl alcohol but I need to know how to process it further. Does the process that you use for salvia d. which is naptha which absorbs the plant waxes and tannins and leaves the salvinorum A work with kratom? I need a reply from someone who really knows his or her sh#t. Thanks |

seperating out alkaloids from the resin you get from a simple
extraction is going to be extremely tricky for someone who does not really know what they're doing. you could mulch it up in hydrochloric acid for a few days, then wash with ether or something similar. Then add sodium hydroxide until the mixture was sufficiently basic, then extract with ether again to give you a mixture of alkaloids - be prepared for a loss in yiled though, especially if you don't understand the principles and haven't had any experience with this kind of thing. for further purification I guess you could look at chromatography on silica, but if you don't know what you're doing then I would just leave it as it is or you're going to waste a lot of material on a fairly steep learning curve. Also, the fact that kratom contains a number of potentially active alkaloids is going to make it all the more difficult enjoy. |
