Nicotine addiction subforum: why there's none?
Shouldn't we have a separate forum for nicotine addiction?
Truth be told, such thought occurred to me when I saw R&A's structure for a first time. I found it inconsistent.
I like the rationality about DF.
I mean, the division system of R&A (alcohol, opiates, downers, coke, amphetamines) reflects the state of things and the current state of knowledge: they are most widespread, most addictive, most deadly.
Now, isn't tobacco the biggest killer of them all?
Success rate of quitting: about 10%.
This drug has been so widespread and and so ingrained in civilisation that it became innocent almost (alcohol is a somewhat similar case); even bright people refuse to know about the fact: tobacco-nicotine is one the most addictive substances known to men.
Excuse me if I seem to be drifting towards preaching and zealotism.
Yes, I stopped nicotine. Yes, I'm proud of that. And I always remind my psychic pets that in order to be proud of that now I had to be utterly ignorant then.
I'm simply coming with a humble proposition to improve R&A - and to help nicotine addicts because I know all too well how immensely helpful were both online support and research when I was stopping.
(I thought about posting this on Improving DF but I wanted to ask R&A community for opinion first.)
Yours truly.
