Allergic reaction to Apirin

This is a new one to swim.

Swim never new he had any allergies towards anythin.
Swim recently bought a box of genereic Aspirin with codeine.

He just took two.
10- 15 minutes later, his lips started feeling as if they were on fire.
His top lip started swelling up, it would get more and more intense, but it was only in this small area on the front of his lip.

It looked like someone smacked swim with a wire. This red swollen line.
It burned.

But slowly after another 10 minutes it started to go away.

It all happened pretty fast.

Ever since swim is alittle edgy on tryin aspirin again.

Re: Allergic reaction to Apirin

i believe signs of codeine allergy is similar to normal opioid side effects, but with actually swelling of the skin and rashes, as opposed to just a warm wicked itch. did you happen to scratch your upper lip while itching, causing the swelling? did you notice splotches, rashes, or swelling anywhere else? any trouble breathing? stomach pain? are you allergic to aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or any other nsaids?
