Dose - oxycontin dose

alright, so swim has a chance to buy a couple of 30 mg oxycontin. swim has never taken oxycontin before but has used other opiates. swim has used hydrocodone,oxycodone, and vicodin. The most swim has taken is 5 of the 10/325 oxycodone. Swim doesnt have an opiate tolerance but has used them quite a few times in the past. Swim was just wondering if he should take a whole 30 mg oxycontin, or if he should divide it into however many parts.
can someone please help?

is it a oxycontin 30 (30mg oxycodone extended release) - round, brown and says OC on one side and 30 on the other? or is it a lil blue roxicodone(30mg oxycodone immediate release)?

is swiy taking it by mouth, up the nose, in the ass, or bangin a vein?

is swiy taking anything else? other opiates? benzos? alcohol?

before anyone can make an informed decision, they need to know these things...

it is an oxycontin 30mg, swim plans on taking in by mouth or nose, and that will be the only thing swim will be taking.

How often and how long has it been since SWIY ingested his last 50mg dose of oxycodone? If it's been recent, then start by railing a 30mg and you should feel pretty good. SWIM thinks it's best to get a decent first dose because it feels better than not getting enough and trying to catch up by taking more afterwards. If SWIY was to snort 15mgs, then wait an hour to see how it feels, then sniff the other half of the pill, it wouldn't feel as good as sniffing the 30mgs all at once. This is just SWIM's opinion, and SWIM probably still has a good tolerance even though it's been a bit since use (a bit is a few weeks for SWIM).

Its been more than bit. it been about a month and a half. BUt a week or two ago swim took 40mg and it didnt really feel that good. Its more like swim has a mental tolerance than a physical tolerance, for example since swim knows he's taken 50mg and felt really good, 40 mg doesnt really feel like anything even with out a tolerance. so swim should just rail the 30 all at once, im assuming?

perc 10s and oc's behave differently so its not as simple as 30mg = 30mg. if swiy is tryin to get an intense high with fast onset, they could scratch the paint off, crush it up, make two bumps, and do one in each nostril back-to-back. gonna want to rinse out the sniffer with a few drops of water after ten or fifteen minutes to force a drip. thats a whole lot of powder just for 30mg though(compared to an oc80), and swiy may loose out in the end if the nose cant absorb the goods before it dries up.

oxycodone has high bioavailability when taken orally(~90% oral vs. ~45% intranasal). swim would crush it up, and swallow the powder. definitely gonna need a chaser to get rid of that taste though. it will still kick in within 15-20min, and peak an hour to 1.5hr later. instead of being high quick, and coming down quick...swiy would be higher longer.

swiy could also take half the powder and swallow it, then take the other half, make two lines, and bump one up each side of the old nose. so swiy will feel a lil now, and a lot for longer.

edit: swim would like to add that if swiy would like to reduce the chance of getting sick, bump half and then wait 30-45 minutes before either bumping more or swallowing the rest. swiy will know how they feel at that point and will be able to make a conscious decision... unless theyre unable to make a conscious decision because they are in fact unconscious at that point, so another dose wouldnt be recommended by swim... and swim would be very jealous to nod on 15mg lol

If swallowed: 30mg would be completely fine to take, especially since the time release is in effect. Forwhomthebelltolls is right when he says that Percocet 10s and Oxycontin behave differently, but if SWIY was able to talk 50mg of Oxycodone via Percocets, 30mg via Oxycontin would not be a problem...

If snorted: Take the coating off and whatnot and then break it into two lines. SWIM wouldn't say it should be dangerous to do it all at once; however, to avoid the possibility of getting sick doing half of it, waiting a bit, and doing the rest once the first half settles would help to be sure that SWIY does not get nauseous or whatnot.

Either way, judging from what SWIY has said about his history, there is no real need to worry about 30mg being too much.

SWIM is a little guy and has a short history of doing hydro's and oxy's. SWIM recently did 240mg steadily over an 18 hour period. SWIM didn't think much of it until he told some more veteran users of the dosage and was given a harsh a scalding. SWIM was ashamed and embarrassed for having acted so recklessly. Others have died from far less apparently. It is ironic, because SWIM is usually overly cautious when trying new drugs. But I digress. The point here is that there are so many variables and unknowns...the limit seems to often times be a crapshoot. SWIM's capacity for so many mg's with very little prior experience may have something to do with very longterm useage of other prescription drugs (albeit, non-opiates).

my friend has never done oxycontin before, but have done perc's (2 percs was the best of his experiences and has only acquired those once) vicodin, oxycodone and all the sore throat tasty liquids in the past drinking about half the bottle. Don't know the mg's on those but he is about 6,2 230 lbs. He is acquiring a 30 mg or might be 40 mg not exactly sure. He was also wondering a safe dose, he is mainly wanting to use it to come down from his adderall. Or depending on his adderall stash, just using it for fun. He has done opiates quite a few times in the past, the last of which being on thanksgiving when he drank some sore throat medication. Before that, a long time.

Thanks for your help, he doesn't feel like dying so whatever info helps.
