After the alkaloids have been boiled out of the cacti how long will the remaining "drink" be active. Also if left around for a bit will fungus or just gross stuff grow in the drink? thanks.

Keep it in the refrigerator dude! Yes, gross stuff will start to
grow pretty quickly on anything you boil up and just leave it laying
about. Keep it in the fridge 1-2 weeks only. If longer
storage is needed, freeze it as soon after making as practical.

I don't know what the upper limit on frozen is, but I've used some to good effect as long as 8 months after freezing.
