SWIM received an order of o-desmethyltramadol (+ and - isomers) a few days ago. Here is a report he gave me on his tests.

NOTE: SWIM has a moderate tolerance to opiates from daily pod usage. His dosage has gotten pretty low recently, but there is still a tolerance. Poppy Tea was drunk both days of testing, but at highly reduced amounts.


SWIM: Male, 270lbs

He has slowly been working up to find a full dose.

1) A few pieces of dust from the bag was rubbed onto SWIM's forearm to test for any allergic reaction, no reaction took place.

2) 4mgs were placed under the tongue for 5 minutes and then spat out. No effects, good or bad, no bad reactions

3) 10mgs was held under the tongue for 10 or so minutes and then swallowed...no effects.

NEXT DAY

4) 20mgs was insufflated...minor effects: alertness was the first effect felt. minor euphoria, minor opiate feeling, but very awake. Fell asleep before it wore off...but that was 5 hours after taking the desmethyltramadol

Next day

5) 20mgs IM'd stronger effects, again the first effect was wakefulness (~5min), then a nice opiated feeling followed (10minutes).

6) ^ after 30 minutes another 20mgs was sucsesfully IV'd. SWIM felt no rush like he was used to when he used heroin or hydromorphone. The effects still crept up slowly (5-10 minutes).

At this time SWIM is unable to give duration, but will report back when effects fade.

Edit: SWIM's wife insufflated ~10mgs around 8pm. She has extremely bad cramps but the 10mgs killed the pain and left her almost on a nod (granted she was already a bit tired). For those that have little to no tolerance this is a powerful painkiller. She noted moderate euphoria. Even for SWIM there was notable painkilling properties...moreso than even oral morphine...less euphoria, but more painkilling abilities. Also SWIM wanted to say that he noticed that the energy felt after ingestion drops away after a few hours and that's when the real magic seems to happen. Even with an opiate tolerance SWIM noted feeling very opiated the entire night.

Both SWIM and his wife noted that they were still feeling the effects of the desmethyltramadol the next morning. This substance seems to last a good long time. 12hours+ is what SWIM and his wife are reporting.

swim is male, 180lbs, has limited opiate experience ranging no further than 120mg cold-water-extractions of co-codomol, and he is currently sat at home.

Swim ordered 1g of o-desmethyltramadol a few weeks back, which arrived today. swim is usually unable to resist testing his new substances the day he receives them and after reading about suggested dosages on an alternate drugs forum he has decided as a naive opiate user to start at 75mg. this may seem too high, but the logic and explanation given by others seemed reasonable enough for it appear a safe starting dosage. it is now 11.15pm, so swim has weighed out 75mg of the substance using his 0.001g scales and emptied the contents of the weighing bowl under his tongue and held it there for a couple of minutes before swallowing all the chemically enriched saliva that had built up to that point. The taste was unexpected; sort of alkaline in flavour with no burning or sour aspects, but generally not too unpleasant and swim has definitely tasted worse.

T+20: swim has spent these last few minutes writing up his report to this point and has gradually noticed some effects build up on him. It began with a nice tingling in his temples and then a slow calming wave of what he can only describe as a 'pleasantly relaxing feeling' that seems to be strengthening over time. His thoughts currently appear to remain intact and his ability to think and write coherently seems unchanged from when sober. swim is starting to like o-desmethyltramadol, but this is still early stages. He will now stand up, go make a drink and see if it affects his motor-abilities and report back soon after a little self-observation of the drugs working on his body.

T+45: swim is good state at the moment, he has felt no specific 'rush' of sorts, but the drug has sort of crept up on him slowly, but very surely. the feeling is subtle, not overly strong, but not weak either. swim does not feel overwhelmed or paralyzed in anyway, but nor is he disappointed by a lack of effects. the high seems to please the entire body, rather than just select areas. his face has become warm, his arms and legs seem to be flowing a river of mild ecstasy, but not euphoria as such, and to be metaphorical it feels his veins are like a hose connected to a tap which has increased its flow substantially more than normal. He has a slight twitch/tremor in his hands, but this may be accountable to the tweaking nature that regular tramadol has been reported to induce. He is currently enjoying his experience, and has just had a positive conversation with his dad that seemed natural, yet a little forced since he had to fight the drug a little in order to converse effectively. The effects appear to be stronger than they were 20 minutes ago, maybe 20% more, and wouldn't mind disappointed if his were the peak, but would also welcome a further surge in strength if it has the courtesy to do so.

T+60: swim is very happy. his head is buzzing in a smooth way, but is still very much on control of his consciousness. when moving his limbs, the action appears very fluid and un-jerky, which makes walking a fun thing to do. he is enjoying chatting with mates online and is about to go watch some TV. swim does not feel particularly hungry, but nor he is uneasy at the idea of food, so at the moment no munchies, but no anorexia either, just flat down the middle. He has also just looked in the mirror and noticed his pupils are completely normal, so that’s another positive aspect. Swim would also like to mention he has a big grin on his face, he felt that worth noting! 

T+100: even after 90 minutes, the effects are still very noticeable to swim. His packet of Doritos was delicious and glass of milk exquisite. Watching TV was easy to follow since his short and long-term memory has not been affected. At one point it felt like swim may have peaked and the drug started to plateau, but after ingesting his food, the taps turned back on again and he started to once again feel great. Swim doesn’t know if this thought will last, but he currently has no desire to re-dose in the near future as he feels adequate enough as it is, this being a very positive aspect to the drug. He will in 10 minutes or so though allow himself to a joint filled with marijuana and JWH-018 to enrich his experience, since he reckons the o-desmethyltramadol will not reveal anything further to swim. He is however starting to struggle writing with the same level of coherence as before, this may be due to the odd spasm and shaking around his body, but mainly in his fingers and arms. swim will now finish this report for tonight since he wishes to enjoy his joint then go to bed, but he will conclude his findings tomorrow to establish if any hangovers or general drowsiness were present and whether to actually recommend the drug for further testing. As to the effects, he can only compare it to being like a speedy codeine feeling, but without any anxiety that swiy may associate with drugs that produce any level of stimulation. It seems to have lasted a worthwhile length of time until, but it could last a great deal longer. Swim hopes swiy has enjoyed this report and uses it to make an informed decision as to whether to try or not try this drug. However, since it is an opiate, it is likely to be addictive even though swim currently does not feel any desire for more, so he can only advise to take it easy and remember this is a research chemical and not a forgone conclusion.

only a few minutes after he finish writing, 10 or so he started to get very edgy and felt the relaxing nature wear off rapidly, making him anxious to say the least. he was chatting with his mate online, but was desperate to leave to have his joint because he was starting to feel like a necessity; anything to calm him down. the high hadnt worn off, it just didnt feel pleasurable anymore. after smoking his JWH018 and cannabis joint, he didnt feel any better so luckily he took advantage of his diazepam supply and took half a 10mg pill to ease the anxiety in hope of allowing him to sleep. however, when he was lying in bed he kept feeling himself slowing down, and his breathing becoming a bit of a struggle at times. he was starting to regret smoking the JWH018 which he knows to cause problems when mixed with other drugs, most specifically ketamine and phenethylamines, but even with this prior knowledge, it did not bother swim at the time since he truly felt he needed something to reduce the heavy downturn of the drug, and perhaps in retrospect he should just taken the diazepam by itself since he knows this to be a common remedy by opiate users to mask the come down.

this morning, swim felt fine however, waking up at his usual time, feeling only a slight benzover familiar to him from the diazepam. swim was not put off by these negative effects of o-desmethyltramadol though. he thinks the high was really nice, relaxing, but energetic all in one, and that perhaps if he had taken it earlier in the day at a time when he didnt have to sleep through the comedown, he might have enjoyed the final more mind-racing stages a bit more. swims conclusion is that this drug definitely needs more testing, but swim wont be upping his dosage quite yet and will instead try the same, but next time in the morning when he can experience the entire timescale of the drug, uncontaminated by other drugs which swim was tempted with justification to use.

if swiy has made an order of this chemical he recommends a starting dosage for naive opiate users of between 50-75mg. swim felt his dose of 75mg fine, but swim is also used to very high levels of ketamine and other powerful drugs, so this may still over-whelm the less experienced or under-tolerant of swimmers. on a final-note, BE CAREFUL with this. swim DID NOT redose and would NOT recommend it on swiy's first outing since swim did not feel the need for it, nor did he for the sake of pure safety and harm reduction. that being said, he invites fellow swimmers to enjoy testing out such a relatively new drug and hopes to hear some other experiences from swiy very soon!
