Golf Course shrooming

SWIM is surrounded by golfcourses in NC. Is this hopefully a goldmine since its irrigation is maintained by people and not done by mother nature? Or do golf courses spray certain fungicides?
Also SWIM has abundant marsh and swamps in his area, what are good specimens that could be found in the eastern NC parts?
