Drugs and Breastfeeding

The only threasd I could find on the topic was about LSD where I got the impression that one should wait with breastfeeding to at 24-36 days after taking it. Likewise I've read that one should wait at least three days after taking MDMA, and four days to be on the safer side.

My fish is especially intersted in how longe one should wait to be on the safe side with other drugs. He is most interested in knowing more about how long one should wait after the following drugs:
  • Cannabis
  • Amphetamine
  • Mephedrone
  • Cocaine
This topic doesn't seem to be covered very well on the net at all (unnless my searchengine sux). Therefore, please add the info you have or related questions here.

I'll start with what I know about alcohol. While breastfeeding no more than 2% of the amount of alchol passes on to the milk. At first impression it might sound very low. Any yes, its lower than the generall "impression" and some people think that 100% passes through which wouldn't make sense. I'll add a calculation that might be helpeful. If your weight is 70kg, andy our baby is 7kg, the approximate amount of alchohol the baby could be is 1/10 of yours. As it get 2%, for every 5 beer you drink its the alcohol of about one beer for the baby. If they baby is 14kg, it will be half a beer.

My fish has heard that cannabis is less harmful, but erowids the only source, and he he's not really sure as to why as it "seems" more harmeful to swim to smoke a joint than have a few pints.

My fish guesses that coke isn't very good at all, probably influenced by the media coverege of crack babies.

For reesearch chemichals such as Methylene and Mephedrone it's naturally more unclear, but based on the chem and relations to other drugs what is most probably the reccomended "safe" waitingtime for breasteeding after taking it?

I think I heard there's some prohibition against posting links to government sites here, but search for "LactMed" and you'll find the site. Not many drugs pass into the breast milk. Opioids do, coke doesn't create crack babies this way, but it does pass.

Cannabis not only passes into breast milk but it stays in fat reserves for a while. It's not as dangerous as alcohol to the infant, but it's not good for them, either.

After a drug is out of a mother's system, it obviously can't magically appear in her milk, but keep in mind it has to be completely gone, not just subtherapeutic. 24 hours after using marijuana, there's no effects left, but it's still there. To be completely safe, one could just go by a drug being completely out of the system--5 half-lives after it's last ingested.
