Drug info - crushing xanax xr?

swim has a couple questions, he recently got some 1mg xanax xr's (alprazolam xr), and he wants all the drug released at once like when he takes instant release xanax (alprazolam).
1. this question might sound dumb but does a 1mg xr contain only 1mg???, swims asking this cause people just take one a day theraputically.
2. will breaking a xanax xr relase all the drug at once???

1. yes. 1mg is 1mg
2. the only thing SWIY can do is crushing it to fine powder - but SWIM thinks there will be not such a great difference to non-XR alprazolam.

SWIM used to get xanax TS (canadian XR) and crushed up a full bar into super fine powder and took it but still didnt have NEARLY the effect that a regular IR xanax bar had..how this works SWIM has no clue but maby its just him.
