Lightbulb The Official "Trip-Bag" Thread: What Items Does SWIY Like to Take on a Trip?

Uh Oh, my pet lionfish is up at it again... and he's sending me some good vibes. Here's what he has to say;

Quote:
Whattsssuppp. I've seen alot of small talk about a trip bag around the forums. As a decently frequent and experienced user of Mushrooms, I know the basics of having a Trip-Bag. I have always brought around a bag with the simple neciessitys. But I'd like to start a perfect thread on what everyone thinks should be in a Trip-Bag. From my common knowledge I think in a trip bag there should be;

- A decent sized bottle of water.
- A cell phone that is off, but there incase you wander.
- A pad of paper and colored pencils/pen
- A blanket
- Some good buds
- An iPod or some musical device

But thats a very vauge list in my mind. I wanna hear what you guys have to say, what else should be subtracted or added to the list of things that should be in a Trip-Bag?

Re: An Offical 'Trip-Bag' Thread...?

Here's a pretty typical list of things my lab rat takes on a trip occurring
somewhere other than home:
  • A loaded MP3 player
  • Small amount of Marijuana and pipe
  • Cigarettes
  • Cell, turned off
  • Wallet and keys
  • Water
Depending on how long Labrat's going to be gone, where the trip takes
place, and whether or not there is a chance of encountering others best
kept in the dark, the list also may include:
  • Sunglasses (for hiding dilated pupils)
  • Small flashlight
  • Light snack
Labrat really prefers to carry as little as possible while tripping... nothing
more than what will fit in the pockets of cargo pants and a hoodie.

Re: An Offical 'Trip-Bag' Thread...?

My orangutan, Clyde, says he brings the following:

  • MP3 player (Ambient trance, Alan Watts-esque philosophy lectures etc)
  • Headphones
  • Wallet (One bus ticket, 5-10$, and a card with some lawyer's numbers on it)
  • Sunglasses (In combination with headphones makes for a wonderful excuse not to make any kind of connection with anyone you don't want to)
  • Cellphone, off
  • A comfort object of some sort (just in case...)
  • Pen + notebook
  • <=.5 of weed + pipe + lighter
  • (more often than not) good company
Like Phungus said, nothing that cant be kept in a pair of cargo jeans and a hoodie.

What do other swimmers put on their Mp3 players?

Carrying as little as possible is a good idea. Possessions will only weigh one down during a trip, both physically and psychologically.

Some metal, but mostly ambient, electronica, psychedelic and trip-hop. No psy-trance or any of that; it's too loud and fast. It's what happens when someone mixes two genres together, resulting in an abomination (another example is crunkcore). Relaxing, soothing sounds are the key to a trip of epic proportions.

Re: An Offical 'Trip-Bag' Thread...?

A bit of weed
A drink
Mobile phone (not necessarily off)
Cigarettes
Music

SWIM thinks on of the best things to listen to while tripping is The Future Sound of London turned up loud. Complete bliss. Pillows and blankets covering the floor to make a nest. Really doesn't get any better than that.

Re: The Official "Trip-Bag" Thread: What Items Does SWIY Like to Take on a Trip?

basics: phone, music, weed/smoking device, cigarettes. waters a must. sunglasses were definetly a good idea. and most importantly a secure backpack to keep everything in, my dog lost a fresh bag of dank thanks to a shtty backpack

first time my dog, and his doggy friends, shroomed he thought it was a really good idea to get paper and crayons, but into the trip they felt no interest in drawing and was much more interested in just enjoying the world around them.

pretty much the entire gorillaz library goes perfectly with such an experience

hey..give me some
