tryin to quit

Bobs a strange drinker
just one drink: vodka
Bobs been drinking for 7yrs on and off
He has no self control when he drinks, he never know when to stop. a few close friends have thought for a while he has a problem. Bobs known for a long time
so he tried to hide it from everryone. drink in secret b4 and during a night out
the after effects were obvious for all to see so im not sure whathei was hoping to achieve there
he only drinks when he goes clubbing. never in any other situation. Easy answer u say, stop clubbing. Not so easy im afraid
Bob enjoys losing his senses
To this day he has never admitted to anyone he has a problem. Mostly all his family dont even know he used to drink he was that secretive about it
So he thinks the best way to stop the drink is to turn to methadrone to replace the alcohol. Willpower just isnt gonna be enough

Re: tryin to quit

Is bob referring to the synthetic opioid methadone (used to help people with their opiate addiction) or mephedrone (the research chemical stimulant)?

Re: tryin to quit

I believe you are probably referring to Mephedrone in which case more information can be found at Mephedrone & beta-ketones

Re: tryin to quit

Hey. I think that using another substance in place of alcohol is not a wise move for Bob. Bob could look at the reasons why he wants to get completely wasted and loosing his senses, is it really because he enjoys the feeling or is he doing this to escape from problems? If there is a deeper reason for Bobs alcohol use then just switching it for another substance will not get rid of the problem. Bob could then end up with the same issues using Mephedrone. Mephedrone is a research chemical so the risks of using this drug are an unknown quantity, the saying better the devil you know than the devil you dont, springs to mind. The immediate issue of Bobs alcohol use needs to be resolved first.

Using another substance instead of alcohol is not at all a good option. You must join some rehab centres that may help you.

Re: tryin to quit

aw man please dont substute the alcohol with something else.

my advice to swim is to taper himself off the drink. yes its going to be long and hard.

Please understand you do have will power, please understand that you need to at least connect with this soon.

swim also knows a secretive drinker and recently has cut down to bare minimals. The withdrawal is a stinker and the cravings are even tougher.
