GBL as sleeping aid?

Can GBL be used as temporal sleeping aid? SWIM guesses yes because SWIM was reading a impressive post in some german forum some user using it as sleeping aid. SWIM plans to take 1ml (70 kg) before going to bed today and report back if there is interest.
