Talking to people online and in person and the topic of the PATRIOT act
gets brought up, there is a popular sentiment I've seen again and again.

That the PA just put into law what was normal operating prochedure for
years, that the fourth amendment has been missing in action for a long
time, so WTF are all you PA haters so pissed about.

This is a scary attitude, so a right has frequently been ignored or abused so why not codify it in the law?

Scary!
