Dose - What dose of Concerta would be equivalent to 20mg of Adderall IR?

SWIM wants to switch from Adderall IR Concerta and his doc recently prescribed him Concerta (he gets the Adderall from friend), the weakest dose of course to start (18mg). SWIM knows it is basically just like Ritalin in a time release form, kind of like Adderall XR V.S. IR but I think it is meant to last even longer which means the dose is even more gradual. That will be fine once SWIM has transitioned to it as he wants to get off Adderall due to the side effects, mainly it makes his OCD, which is normally not too bad anymore much worse. It is also just a bit too strong for SWIM sometimes, SWIM has trying to be good about it and not abuse it but at this point he has a pretty high tolerance and 20mg while still very effective is not nearly what it used to be. Although SWIM usually takes 15-20 mg in the morning when he wakes up (around 7 AM) and then sometimes if needed another 5-10 mg in the early afternoon 7 or 8 hours later (2 or 3 PM) as SWIM finds the IR starts to wear off a bit by then, but he tries to avoid this unless really necessary as he is an insomniac (well before the Adderall) and it will make that even worse as well.
So bottom line is SWIM has been taking 20-30 mg of IR Adderall a day for quite a bit now (under a year tho), he stops for a few days now and again, sometimes for a week and is really tired for the first few days but that is about it, by the third day he starts to feel “normal” again so he doesn’t think he is addicted to it but is def dependant on it. However SWIM does not take it to get “high” since his tolerance is so high it hardly gives him any euphoria anymore, a little for about the first two hours right after it kicks in but that’s it. SWIM thinks that honestly he has been taking a relatively small daily dose (from and abuse or getting high off it perspective) but then again he thinks the max daily dose a doc will prescribe is 30mg a day for IR so maybe it is pretty high from that perspective, but in order for SWIM to get a euphoric high off it he would prob have to take around 40-50 mg at one he thinks. But regardless SWIM wants to get off it and transition to Concerta but he wants to do it correctly. He has only taken Concerta once, it was a 34mg pill and it seemed to do absolutely nothing, he even took it in the late evening and had no problem falling asleep. So SWIM thinks in order to equal 20mg or so of Adderall the dose is going to have to be pretty high, around 100mg he is guessing, but he really has no idea. He found a good comparison to Ritalin dosage online but that is about it. SWIM also understands that both drugs are different and work differently so Concerta may never be quite as “effective” but as long as it controls his ADD without the side effect he currently gets from Adderall and does it with less potential for addiction he is cool with that
If any SWIMMERs have made the switch from around 20-30mg of Adderall a day to Concerta please chime in, what dose did you find was effective after having a tolerance to Adderall? Also was making the switch hard for a few weeks, IE were you much more tired and less motivated until your body adjusted to it? Any info would help SWIM out as he really wants to get off of Adderall before he is up to some crazy 80mg a day dose just to get the effects he needs. He feels it is right at the point now where it is not too late for him to switch off of it or just get off in general. SWIM has heard of people using much higher daily doses than he is for much longer periods of time.
