Ello all.

I've had DMT on two occasions (well, I think so!), and had two very different experiences -
and I'm wondering if I had the same drug on both occasions . . . maybe
someone can shed a little light. . .

First occasion was about 10 years ago. It was a white powder which we
smoked in a crack-pipe and which tasted very chemical, sorta as petrol
smells. Immediately lay back, shut eyes, and went off down a fractal
tunnel, ended up almost traveling, flying over snowy countryside, a
really beautiful, gentle and very visual experience. Lasted about 20
mins and I remember trying to prolong it.

Other occasion was last night, as happens. This time, a brown powder,
smoked in a crack-pipe again. Tasted foul, oily, resinous smoke, gave
me a bad cough afterwards. This time, no fractal tunnel, more like
everything dissolved very rapidly, ended up in a sorta mess of grinding
fractals, sorta like everything in the universe compressing itself into
a singularity. Had the feeling that I was being drawn toward this
point, and that there was something behind it - but couldn't seem to
let go enough to pass through. Was a bit scared that I'd forget to keep
breathing. Lasted about 15 mins. At one point I pretty much forgot
myself and lost consciousness of who & what I was. The experience
was not at all as gentle as my first one, and could have been
frightening - I think next time, knowing what it's like, I'll be more
prepared, and maybe be able to let go more.

My question is - given the difference in these two experiences - both
were very intense, very visual, but the first was much gentler an
experience - and involved seeing things, flying. At no time did I lose
awareness of who I was. The second experience was different in that,
although also very visual, I didn't see anything recognisable, and
there was quite a loss of 'self'. . . The drugs looked
different, too - one white powder, one brown. I'm told the second was
an organic compound. I don't know if the first was or not, but it
tasted chemical.

Does anyone have any idea - can both of these drugs have been different
forms of DMT? If so, can anyone shed any light on what the difference
between them may have been?

Incidentally - while the experience the other night was a bit scary, I
guess it's a learning curve. I'll be trying it again soon!

Can't be sure, but both those experiences sound like DMT to me. The
white powder may have been synthed versus the brown powder being
extracted. I've only ever had extracted DMT and it is indeed harsh and
cough-inducing. This can sometimes color the trip. To this day I
shudder whenever I smell DMT because it reminds me of, of course, my
one REALLY BAD DMT trip. It got way, way, way inside my brain, for sure.
