Drug info - Extened use of Diphen

Hi,

So for a long time, over a year, swim was taking Diphenhydramine for sleep, usually 100mg a night. One has read that it has SSRI like effects, so SWIM is curious how long these effects might linger after completely stopping the use of it. One has read that most SSRI's effects stick around for a good 3 weeks, and SWIM is hoping this isn't the case with Diphen.

The half-life isn't that long; what effects are you referring to? If swiy wakes up in the morning, well, that's the diphenhydramine wearing off. And the affinity for 5HT reuptake inhibition apparently isn't significant, or else it would work as an antidepressant or at least interact with them. afaik, there's not even a warning about combining it with SSRIs. There's no way 100 mg is enough to have an impact on 5HT, and so there shouldn't be much of an effect after stopping the drug.

SWIM asks because SWIM took a pill last weekend (mdxx) and it had no effect on SWIM whatsoever (well, little effect...dilation of the eyes, nothing more), and SWIM was trying to figure out what stopped the roll. SWIM knows that SSRIs make rolling very difficult, so that's why SWIM asked.
