Effects of Truffles vs. Mushrooms?

Swim used to get mushrooms from holland. He was particularly happy with hawaiians mushies
Few month ago, mushrooms were banned in holland, but he recently found truffles legally sold. Swim tried philosopher stones few years ago but he didn't really like it. But one exeperience with psychedelic isn't enough for a good judgement.
So what is the difference in effect between truffles and mushrooms?

Re: Truffles vs Mushrooms

Different quantities of psilocybin and psilocin per weight. In fact it varies from mushroom to mushroom as well. Liberty caps for example have little to no psilocin. Other than that it's all a question of relative dose.

Re: Truffles vs Mushrooms

The effect will vary depending on the ratio of psilocin to psilocybin just like with other Psilocybe mushroom species.
Bear in mind there are several distinct species of scelerotia being sold as Philosophers Stones, all with subtely different effects.

What type would be closer to hawaiian mushrooms?

The Hawaiian strain of psilocybe cubensis, or copelandia cyanescens (which
are also referred to as 'Hawaiians')? There is a huge difference.

Truffles are usually psilocybe tampanensis or psilocybe mexicana. Mexicana
contain slightly more alkaloids.

There's a few threads revolving around truffles vs shrooms:

Here are the findings of another study:

Mushroom Type
Percent Active Alkaloids (Psilocin + Psilocybin)
Compost grown Psilocybe (Stropharia) cubensis 0.5-0.9 percent
Compost grown Panaeocus (Copelandia) cyanescens0.5-2.95 percent
Psilocybe tampanensis sclerotia0.3 percent

Note that alkaloid content can vary between each specimen.

Re: Truffles vs Mushrooms

Do you mean Psilocybe Cubensis?

EDIT:

Can't find equivalents for Philosopher Stone truffles... but feel free to look yourself as well!

Re: Truffles vs Mushrooms

Thank you Phungushead,
Lots of interesting infos.
I guess, I have to try it again (probably mexican) in order to see if like it as much as hawaiian mushies (knowing that it will be diffrent anyway).
