A Beautiful Insight

SWIM was very excited three weeks ago when swim recieved his salvia plug plant in the post, as swim had been reading up on the uses and effects of this sacred plant for weeks and weeks before.
So, after taking the plant to work (swim works in a plant nursery and has facilities for growing on internet plants), he promptly potted up the salvia plug into a 1lt pot in multi-purpose compost and put the pot into a propagator with underfloor heat set to 18'c.

Swim was very surprised that after only 2 weeks the plant had tripled in size and was throughly rooted through, standing now 8" above the pot with around 16 leaves from the origional 2 the plant came with.
These plants are really really easy to grow in propagators.

Swim was eager to have his first salvia experience and, as the day was such a nice one, decieded to go over to the local heathlands to find a spot to sit and enjoy it.
So swim removed 13 reasonably sized leaves from the plant, roughly 6" long each, apologizing to the salvia as he did so, and popped the leaves into a small plastic bag with a bit of wet sphagnum moss to keep then fresh.

On arriving home swim thought that it may be a good idea to take his doberman with him to keep an eye out for errant people who may disturb him during his trip, so he grabbed the lead and off they went.
The afternoon was one of the most perfect he had seen in years, with a blue sky and a cool but not cold breeze and the sun was lovely and warm on his face.

Swim had to walk quite a long way to get to a suitable location, but the journey he took was blissful even before he had taken the sage.
Over the park and through a small wood where the autumn coulours were all shining in the sun, golden, red, orange, green and yellow swim sighed with contentment.

Next was a half mile walk alongside the canal on the towpath with the sun playing on the waters and the occasional narrowboat drifting past.
After a while swim came to a small gap in the hedge that lead out onto an open heathland where people rarely ever go but rabbits abound, keeping the grass short.
Swim walked a little way accross the heath until he found a small grassy sunken area lined at the bottom with a thick carpet of moss.
Swim thought "this is the spot" and settled down to consume his salvia.

Swim rolled the leaves all up into a quid and put it into his mouth and chewed the very end, which was difficult as the quid filled about 2/3 of his mouth.
He continued to chew very slowly the quid, never swallowing the liquid but sloshing it all around his mouth to coat everything with the green juice.

After about 12-15 minutes swim started to feel some effects.
The first thing he felt was that he noticed he was even more contented than he had been before and wanted to lie back to get more comfy.
So he reached forward and grabbed a big handful of the moss from the bottom of the hole, and stuck it against the gentley sloping walls of the hole like a pillow, which worked really well.
Swim lay back and felt wonderful, he looked up at the blue sky and saw the clouds drifting by, he looked to his left and right and saw the grass mixed with wildflowers blowing in the breeze, and a moment later he saw his beloved dog "sable" standing at the top of the hollow framed by blue sky and he thought to himself "oh my god look at all of this, it's so perfect".

About 20 minutes later swim still had the quid in his mouth and continued to chew slowly, swallowing a little juice at a time as it filled his mouth.
The next thing swim noticed was that his legs suddenly felt heavy and foreign to him, he giggled as this didn't worry him in the least.
Swim thought that the trip is getting stronger, so he closed his eyes and lay back, but every time he did so, Sable would come over and lick his face causing him to keep his eyes open so swim just lay staring at the perfect sky.
Swim was suddenly aware that all of the clouds he was looking at had got little what he could only describe as "sparks" flittering around their outlines
So he sat back and watched.
The sparks looked like a million little electrical signals traveling all around the outlines of the clouds darting backwards and forward and in every direction, it looked amazing, like the sky was alive with energy.
The sparks became diffused and blurred when he closed eyes but upon reopening them the sparks were still there and bright.

Swim stared at the sky in wonder for what seemed a couple of hours until Sable decieded to jump on his nuts!
This somewhat distracted him back to himself, and he laughed and stroked her saying how silly she was or something.
Her fur felt incredible like the finest silk to the touch, swim looked around him and everything seemed different somehow, unified with him, at peace.
It all just looked....amazing, fresh and dreamlike.
At this point swim was also aware that he needed a pee, so reluctently decieded to get up.

Swim got up and felt wobbly and a little dizzy but not like being drunk more like after being on the waltzers at the fair.
So after getting his balance and berings he clambered out of the hole back up on to the heath where he could see the now setting sun.
The visuals had gone but swim had the most blissful sense of being at one with it all, everything he saw was positive and new, fresh.
He felt totally at peace with himself and all the world, the best he had felt for years.

Swim didn't want to be out after dark as it was getting cold so he started to make his way home.
He was a bit nervous at first as he was still very wobbly on his legs but managed to get back onto the canal towpath and walk along it without falling in the water.

It was over an hour since swim had taken the leaves and he still had some of the quid in his mouth which he swallowed on realising.
His walk back, although a bit awry, was really good fun as everything seemed new, the path, the water, the trees, the bridges and even swim's street all looked like the first time he had seen them.
Also he noticed how bright and how much detail there was in everything even the fallen leaves on the pavement looked beautiful.
On getting home he went upstairs and just crashed out on his bed closed his eyes and enjoyed the feeling of absolute calm.

Swim thoroughly enjoyed his experience with salvia and plans on having a bigger dose as soon as his shepherdess supplies him some new leaves.

All in all the trip lasted over 2 hours and swim is still feeling a sense of contentment and freshness that he has not really ever felt.

What a wonderful gift from nature, let's hope that her proper use will ensure her legality for future generations to be able to learn from her what swim has.

Thankyou for your time, and keep well all.
