GHB Tolerance - no effects

Hello,
Swim has been addicted to GHB several times. It helped her with anxiety. The first time she felt euforic/social all the time from taking it and very active when waking up after GHB induced sleep. She used it for months slowly slipping into daily use, but only in the evenings. Finally the GHB was tapered down and she felt weak, nauseous and sick for a week. After that she felt better than ever. The weird thing was that the 3 weeks after coming off of it she felt very good. After that her anxiety and depression came back with a vengeance. Swim started to use again. This time 24/7. She got manic periods and it was as if the GHB did not have the same effect as it had before and Swim experienced more side effects. although she still felt pretty good, tolerance was built up much faster and she had to use 8 ml sometimes to sleep and would only sleep for an hour. She used 3 weeks this time and got off of it cold turkey. She had a couple of very bad anxiety attacks but after a couple of days she felt as if she could take on the world. Swim wonders if anyone else has experienced this? Coming of of G and feeling great for weeks afterwards but then slowly falling into depression/anxiety that is worse than ever experienced? Now Swim has started to use G again after having not touched it for 1,5 month but has none of the euphoric effects whatsoever and is going to wean off of it as it doesn't do anything. It's like swim is resistant to it somehow. Swim wonders if prolonged 24/7 use cause changes to the brain? She also read that a lot of people start using alcohol or other GABA influencing drugs after stopping 24/7 GHB use. Swim has experienced the same. She never had much interest in alcohol and used benzo's occasionally for anxiety but now abuse has got worse if not on G.

Re: GHB Tolerance - no effects

Please clarify whether SWIY is using GHB or GBL, because you mention about using 8ml for sleep.

Swiy should think why shes slipping to the addiction over and over again.Overcoming an addiction will for sure give you energy and motivation. But the life your living isnt changing your just living it with a different mindset for few weeks.
Swim has noticed that he feels awesome after winning addiction aswell but after time passes the feeling goes away and then addiction seeking behaviour continues.

Maybe you are addicted to addictions and overcoming them?

This is exactly how swim feels. After stopping she feels awesome but then depression comes in a few weeks. Swim wonders if GHB changes the brain chemistry when used daily for a long time. Why would it not work anymore? At all. Even after long abstinence. It was 8 ml GHB by the way swim had to take to get to sleep. She is off it now due to kidney and brain problems and will never touch the stuff again. Swim is scared of the depression that inevitably will follow now.

8ml GHB? At what dilution ratio?

I'll not argue the potential for brain chemistry imbalance in regards to chronic dosing patterns, but kidney trouble? Please explain.

Re: GHB Tolerance - no effects

8 ml - Swim just added bits of water until it was all diluted so she figures 50% strenght.

Swim's kidney values were off and she had to be flushed with an iv solution. Doctors told her she was lucky she did not need dialysis. Swim does not know of studies that prove kidney damage by chronic GHB use but she can imagine it as GHB is a salt and using excessive salt can do much damage to the body. Swim was very much dehydrated by GHB use. She does not want to know what damage she would have caused to her body if she would not have gone to the hospital to have tests done.

By brain damage Swim means cognitive functions are off. Speaking is more difficult, finding words and long and short term memory problems. Also she has issues with anxiety and depression that have never been as serious before GHB use.

Swim also has pain in her muscles or nerves that she did not have prior GHB use. The pain started when she started using it and has not gone away after she stopped. She would really like to see more research done on effects on the body. She has heard from a detox doctor that had seen many patients with nerve/muscle problems after GHB use. We are talking excessive use here though. These are problems that may or may not fade. Swim still needs to find out...

GHB is a new found neurotransmitter. Scientist are starting to learn about it. Many is still unknown about what influence it has on several functions of the body and mind.

Re: GHB Tolerance - no effects

Ok, can I ask you *again* to please make it more clear as to how much GHB was being consumed.

Simply stating that "bits" of water were added until it was all diluted does not tell us anything about the actual dose that was being ingested.

Re: GHB Tolerance - no effects

Excuse me, Swim has always counted in ml's not in grams.
Swim has always made GHB with maximum strenght by adding just enough water to make the NAghb dissolve completely.
So if there is 50% GHB in the liquid and you know the ratio where NaGHB completely resolves, you get the amount in grams. I believe this is 5 ml for 1 gram?

Swim took 20 to 30 ml daily.

Elfquest added 32 Minutes and 31 Seconds later...

Correction (don't see edit button) 4gr - 5 ml makes the real thick GHB, but maybe somebody here knows the exact ratio at which NAgbh dissolves in water completely?
