Is it dangerous to use ambien to get to sleep if your on ritalin?

No, I've been prescribed to both at the same time. If methylphenidate (ritalin) is causing insomnia, it may be better to consider other medications instead.

Ambien with ritalin causes a strange condition with swim. Everything looks animated and she still doesn't sleep.

SWIMs actually prescribed dexedrine which is even harder to sleep on. He was just testing out Ritalin when he made this thread. SWIM will test ambien out since doctors actually prescribed SWIY with both. SWM can probably get a prescription from his doctor if it works but he's worried his doctor will just lower his dosage of dexedrine. Then again SWIM wouldn't be lying if he tells his doctor that he has more trouble sleeping on half the recommended dosage than he does the full dosage.
