Sulbutiamine is awesome

Hello again DF, swim just wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about his experience with Sulbutiamine...

Background

Given swim's full-time work schedule along with his full-time student status, swim has been finding himself exhausted his days of class. This has been causing a negative impact on his grades (falling asleep in class doesn't help) so he finally decided he needed to find a boost since extra sleep hasn't been an option unfortunately. He searched the net and found Sulbutiamine, a B1 derivative, along with it's reports of amazing energy, memory enhancement, among other things, with almost no reported side effects. After recieving it in the mail, swim felt he'd give it a try.

Dose Info

Height: around 6ft
Weight: about 170
Dose: 800mgs in the early afternoon, after a meal since it's fat soluble. (the recommend dose varies from 600-900mgs)

Experience

Swim opened his container, packed a 00 capsule to 800mgs, and drank it down after eating his lunch. The effects came on in 30 minutes. It felt like a coffee buzz for lack of a better description, however there were no jitters, no anxiety, just energy. This energy seemed to come and go in waves where he wouldn't feel the effects for like 5 minutes, and then he would be picked up for the next 30. These waves have seemed to level out over the next couple of days that he took this substance.

The energy lasted for about 10 hours, give or take an hour. Swim also noticed increased mental clarity, however this could be explained for by the energy boost. This energy boost allowed swim to get through the last half of his work shift, and stay more awake and alert during his classes. All in all a very effective energy booster, almost stimulant like.

Notes: Swim felt this after the first 30 minutes that he took it, however his gf didn't notice a whole lot of difference. However she did note, that after drinking a soda on the day she took it she felt a much larger energy boost than normal from the caffeine. Swim tried this for himself and found this to be very true. He figured from this also that it may take different people different amounts of time to feel the full effects from this substance.
After a few days swim started stacking this with Piracetam, which swim has taken before to help him through his classes. The two work great together, and seem to give swim even more energy than each by themselves. Swim has not noticed any negative effects from the Sulbutiamine or the stack.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions let swim know.

Edit: Swim has found some updates on Sulbutiamine when taking it for the longer term. You can find his other thread here....

does one build a tolerance to sulbutiamine? is it a drug to take on an as-needed basis or as a daily supplement?

There have been no reports of addiction potential that swim has found, and he has searched extensively so as to avoid getting hooked. Swim hasn't noticed any addictive properties during the course of taking this either, but will keep an eye out for them in case they turn up. He will let you all know if there is a change on this.

From swims experience, along with his research, it doesn't matter how you take it, you just have to take the right amount for "you" to get the right effects. Upon further review he's seeing doses of up to 1.5g at a time to reach desired effect. This is very high for swim, as 800 is helping him just fine, so he would recommend one should start off low.

Swim will note personally though, that the energy this brings you comes in waves and the more days he's taken it the smoother the waves have been. He wonders if this is because the Sulbutiamine is balancing out in his system since unlike B1, Sulbutiamine is fat soluble.

Swim has wondered that himself but figures things like that are dependant on the individual.

That being said swim goes through the first 3 days of the week with 5 hours of sleep every night. This normally leaves swim fatigued to the point of falling asleep at work and school. With the Sulbutiamine he hasn't even been able to take a nap in between because he's not tired enough. This shows to him a definite, "pick me up" that can't be ignored.

It doesn't cause erectile dysfunction, it's supposed to aid in relieving it.

Read that too. However this statement didn't sound very scientific for multiple reasons. The other drugs that this person was on were not stated in the main comment, no one knows if this person had other conditions, and this is all coming from the "word" of one psychiatrist. Swim would love to read the full report, however it's 69 pounds so he thinks he will pass.

Upon further reading he's found some new forums stating that a few people have taken Sulbutiamine and their moods may have been affected negatively from taking it. This still seems to be a very small percentage of the people who have indulged (about 3 reports of this). This has been possibly isolated to either a dose dependent variable, or an Allithiamine Deficiency. If swim finds more he will post it.

Have SWIY tried aniracetam, is supposed to be the favorite of many SWIMers including SWIM, fat soluble too, if so, can SWIY compare the two?

Swim has not tried Aniracetam so he can not compare the effects. He has tried, and is currently on Piracetam, which he can compare some effects. For him Piracetam "wakes his brain up" to where he feels more alert and clear headed. Even so there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of "push" involved when taking it, just a calm subtle eye opening difference.

Sulbutiamine from swim's experience definitely produces a "push" of sorts. This brings the "brain waking" properties that Piracetam does as more of a side effect than a main result. The only ways he's experienced this effect before is when taking stimulants. He compares it to a long lasting cup of coffee without the jitters or crash. He's noticed that sulbutiamine also seems to effect his mood, in the same way that stimulants he's taken have. This can be positive, and it can be negative, however it's not been an overwhelming feeling, and he's been able to pretty easily keep it in check. He wonders if it effects either your dopamine, or Seratonine levels because he can at times definitely feel he's on it, almost in an intoxicated sense. Because of this, he could see this being used in conjunction with other drugs in a recreational setting to enhance effects, or reduce the crash. He doesn't know, nor does he want to try to see if higher levels of this drug could be used by itself to get, "high".

Read that it might interfere with bipolar medicines.

They ran trials in the treatment of ED, and showed promise...
