Other - What Should a Trip Sitter Do or Know?

SWIM is wondering what the Sitter should do once the person who trips on shrooms tells him/her that he/she has had enough. SWIM keeps on rading about having a sitter at times but wonders about the abilities of the sitter.

Surely the sitter has to be familiar with the drug being taken and should also know what to expect - in a way. But what else should the sitter know about bringing the person who is tripping, back to earth. Should the sitter know first aid - perhaps drug first aid. Perhaps there is something the sitter can do to bring the trip to a quicker end (like consuming sugar when high on THC).

Maybe the sitter needs to be physicaly able to restrain SWIM who is tripping, and calm him down, make him breath deeper, or perhaps encourage him to get physically more active?

SWIM just finds it a bit pontless having a sitter present who would not know what to do when swim consumed some shrooms and all of a sudden gets fits (god forbid this would ever happen to anyone).

Who has been a sitter at occasions where trips went wrong, and what was done to control the situation SWIM wonders.
