What type of euphoria to you get from using ritalin for recreation personally? I always see people saying they get very euphoric and very focused and motivated. SWIM however does not want to do anything but talk and listen to music while high and definitely doesn't have extra focus. Doing homework or anything would be impossible, she'd just want to listen to music, talk to ppl, tell them how great they are ,etc lol. Is SWIM abnormal?? She doesn't have ADHD at all and can even feel a mood uplift from just a 10mg pill. She wishes it made her concentrate more...so badly!

Swim gets like you; he wants to talk a lot, and socialize, but doesn't get that much euphoria. He's heard you have to snort it to really get true euphoria. A little fact: Ritalin (methylphenidate) is the closest pharmaceutical equivalent to cocaine. Meaning the effects of the drug are quite close.

But yeah, different people react differently. However, if Swiy locks herself up in a room, away from distractions (this is key), she will concentrate MUCH more than usual. Swim always socializes like crazy, if there is any distraction, he'll take it. But when he goes to his room, closes the door, turns the damn comp off, and reads, he does notice increased concentration.

Okay, I guess SWIM never turns off the computer haha she just talks very openly to everyone on MSN and facebook and listens to music. SWIM should try that next time, if this could help her with school, that would be amazing.

personally, swim gets no euphoria from ritalin. he occasionally uses it as a caffeine alternative, but if he wants euphoria he goes for adderall(or actual amphetamine). swim has heard a fair amount of people say they get euphoria from methylphenitdate(ritalin) but for swim there is none.

Swim also experiences the socialization aspect of this drug. Infact he believes that doing it socially brings MORE euphoria. Under certain circumstances the body produces more dopamine than others... When SWIY feels happy around friends normally thats a dopamine response. Methylphenidate blocks the reuptake of dopamine, so natrually if the body produces more by itself then that means that there would be much more dopamine avalable to it when reuptake is blocked. SWIM also seems to note a pleasant body buzz on the stuff... Like when he snorts a few lines he gets totally blown, and feels like his spine sends waves of happy through his body.
SWIM seems to think this is a very nice alternative to riding the white pony... both drugs, snorted, have the same effect on him. Ritalin maybe even gets him higher.
