Smoking - Should one use cigarette filters on spliffs?

One night in June, an Aussie lass gave Cowboy a hand-rolled cigarette with a filter in it, but Cowboy doesn't like tobacco, so he just dumped it out and put weed it, but left the filter in it. After smoking, Cowboy noticed that he got stoned as hell, probably even more so than if he hadn't used a filter because it was easier on the lungs, enabling him to inhale more and hold it in for longer. Cowboy would just like to know everyone's opinion...should he use a normal cigarette filter on all future spliffs or not? Cowboy quite likes it and wishes to continue doing so, but has received backlash from some of his friends for being a sissy. Personally, he prefers not to cough in pain all the time and be sick, but that's just him. What is everyone else's opinion?
