The "addictiveness" of Adderall/Dextro-Amphetamine
Not even sure if thats a real word, addictiveness, but either way here goes.
So it seems like all swim hears about anymore, adderall, dexedrine, dextro-amphetamine. Everyone and their goddamn grama has ADHD and half of them sell their prescriptions. Lately swim has been wondering about the severity of addiction to this drug.
Swim has first hand experience. Started taking Adderall occasionally last year, usually every few weeks or so. That turned into weekly, and basically that turned into more frequent and higher doses. Currently swim still uses it, every week, on any day he can, which is usually 2-4 days out of the week (lately it's been more like 5-7.) Swim just doesn't feel like it could ever be an addiction. He has tolerance, needing at least 120 mg, and would say is a habitual user. Regardless, swims never felt addicted.
To say he is addicted seems like such an exaggeration, and a cry for attention or something (Just swims opinion, some people ARE addicted). Its not a "I absolutely need to take this," it's "I really, really, want to take this." Swim definitely knows that you can get the feeling like you can't stop, but honestly swim thinks its about honestly deciding that you want to quit.
Anyway, sorry for all the background info, swim just wanted to let everyone know he knows at least a little bit about the subject. What SWIM wants to know is...
What is a (dextro) amphetamine addiction, like what is the amount/frequency of use that constitutes a real addiction?
Also, in SWIYs opinions, how severe is the addiction, is it serious? Or is it just not wanting to quit thats the problem.
